He would be a king in the WC offense. I think we should seriously consider signing him to a fat contract. He would only help Tannehill down the road. And if Tannehill becomes a Brady type player, we need a Wes to take that number 1 slot. Not an old washed up Ocho, or some other rusted bumb.

Are you talking about next year, or giving up picks this year for him? He's tagged so they aren't cutting him. Idk what picks we would have to give up but I would give them a 2nd

Welker will be 32 next year so I don't see giving someone a fat and long contract in their 30's.

Next year. 3 year deal front load gurantee. I think hes making 9 mil this year. So maybe 18 mil gurantee for 3 years.

Good lord no. Next year we should keep going for the youth movement

I like how you people think some team isn't going to massively overpay for him. Someone will back the dump truck of money up to his house and it a couple years they'll regret it.

Yeah thats exactly what I was thinking. Seattle or some dump team is going to pay him 28 mil gurantee for like 5 years lol.

We have as good or better option in Bess. Why bother with Welker?

pass on wes.he would not be worth the $$$$$$$$$$ and we will prob go wr early in the draft next year and the $ we have in cap room would be better spent

Welker is a nice player, but he is not s superstar. BB has put plays in place to maximize his skill set and he has an elite QB throwing the football. He would not be nearly as productive on any other team. He can get shut down when teams design defensive schemes around him. He's not a matchup nightmare like an Andre Johnson or Larry Fitzgerald.
In the 1st half of the 2nd Pats game last yr, Davis played tight man to man coverage on him and shut him down. He clearly had WW frustrated. Davis aggravated his hamstring in the 2nd half and the Fins again played a soft coverage on him with Carroll and of course WW had a big 2nd half.

welker is a matchup nightmare in the slot...eats up just about anyone you put in front of him...if i'm not mistaken the pats have the ability to tag him again next year so if he puts up another big # season and stays healthy won't shock me if they do...seems to me all the leverage is in the patriots corner here
