So the Pats will most likely let Welker walk. Do you think we have a shot?

Wes didn't do squat while he wasa dolphin. I don't care that he left or what he achieved as a Pat. I also, was glad that we got a 2nd rd pick for him, after using a 6th (i believe) to get him. It's those bitchy ass remarks he made on his way out the door is why I wouldn't want him back.
 
Dolphins fans across the land were smiling in unison when Wes dropped the pass that could have iced the Super bowl for the Pats. Couldn't have scripted that any better.

Getting a 2nd and a 7th for our 3rd receiver was a great deal.

Who knew he would be all pro and the picks would be wasted.

if someone offered a 2nd and a 7th for Bess I'd take it in a heartbeat.

6000 plus all purpose yards in 3 season. Yeah right, that is not doing much.

I once did a drive by drive analysis for a whole season when Welker was a Fin. He was involved with more than a third of of scoring drives. One time it would be a 25 yard punt return to setup score. Another catching a key 3rd down conversion that led to points. He didn't score much when he was here but he did make plays that allowed us to score. That is where you are missing his value.

When he went to the Patriots he improved their offensive scoring just the same. Those 3rd down conversions constantly lead to points for the Pats.

Consider this. The great Patriot Dynasty scored on average 384 points a season before Wes arrived. Since his arrival they average 491 points. That is quite a difference. And it has nothing to do with Welker scoring TD's.

And whoever compared him to Bess is redicolous. Wes has change of direction that Bess doesn't have period.

Like someone said earlier. It was one of our biggest blunders trading him to NE. Not necessaily for the loss to ourteam but for the big addtion to the divisnal rival Patriots.
 
Any decent NFL CB can shut Welker down. Will Allen used to eat Welker's lunch when he was man up on him.
 
Another thing that gets me about Welker.

When he was a Fin he had 3 different QB's as leading passer each year. Feeley, ferotte and then Harrington.
Not to easy to get in the groove like he is with Brady when they keep changing the QB.

We should have kept him until we found our QB.
 
He plays the slot where it is hard to put your corner on every time. Unless you want take your chances with saftey on outside WR.

And if they can shut him down how come he is always in the receiver leaders each year. get a clue.

You just kind of explained why he gets so many yards. It's hard to put your CB on him every time, etc. This way he gets 1000 catches a year because he catches 4 yard slants and gets 12 out of em with that stupid "tuck" he does cause he's a little bastard.

When Welker wa injured Edelman did a nice imitation of him. Not quite as good, but similar. I would take Bess over Edelman any day.
