Some of you guys make me laugh.....

I couldn't watch the race but I wanted too.....oops....sorry...off topic.....
I got ya, they went straight, then they turned left, then straight, turned left, straight, left, crash, straight, left, crash, and then it ended.

The most basic thing that should be asked or required is the following of the rules they're tasked to enforce.

There are other folks here who "take ****" and don't break the rules in response. Surely your philosophy can't be that the people running the forum, the ones who should be setting the best example of behavior, should be any different.

Show me an example of a moderator "breaking" the rules, I'll be waiting.

Also this thread is about off topic responses but you posted a off topic thread, this fourm is for MIAMI dolphins opinions, news and other articles about the team. Not some post whining about other people. Just like certain posts don't belong in certain threads, certain threads don't belong in certain forums.

The problem with your OP is it assumes that every poster who originates a post does it with good intentions, which is not the case.

and WHO exactly decides if a post is done with good intent or not?

to many people deem it bad intent if they dont share the opinion of the post.

its called MESSAGE BOARD DISEASE!!

do you REALLY think that if someone posted all those they wouldnt imediately "disappear"?

and also, you didnt define WHICH rules your talking about. that might help that poster.

Ironically, you can look through just about any thread here whose topic was originally the Miami Dolphins, and find in it exactly what I bolded above, with no moderation of that behavior, and with the moderators themselves being the culprits in many cases.

I'm not bringing up posts, i brought up threads, your allowed to attack post or ideals just not the actual poster..

So when a thread is started about the Miami Dolphins, posts within that thread that do nothing but refer to another poster in a negative way are okay?

All of us, individually. It's the same thing we do regarding conversations we have in person.
And "decide" all you'd like, in your own mind, but in this forum, unlike in conversations in person, that decision doesn't give one license to make negative references to individual posters. There are rules here that don't exist in in-person conversations.

FWIW, I agree, to a degree, with the OP. I've been posting for a long time, and put up a lot of threads for discussion/debate. On a number of threads, there is a great discussion going on, and then gets hijacked with no connection on what was being discussed. It is any poster's right but, don't understand why some bother to post.

Another little complaint is posters posting to say they think a thread is a failure, joke, and worse. Why bother to take up time and space when ya can just click No Thanks and move on? Looking for a bit of attention is the only reason I can see, and most taking shots do not start any threads.

Putting up worthwhile threads, especially during our team's down time, is not an easy thing to do. Those taking their shots should try it, as opposed to ripping others.

Mods here do a great job, with few exceptions, on threads but, do sometimes fall off on posts, which are much more difficult to do. JMO

The huddles masses.....For me personally I judge it on the following criteria:

Does the OP make an argument that conflicts with good reason or common sense and lacks any real factual basis. It also can be a case where a particular poster repeatedly starts threads on basically the same subject with the more than obvious intent to inflame, ignoring the obvious facts and in dissention with the majority of the world's consensus opinion.

For example:

There is a certain poster who continually tries to demean and slam a young QB who just played his 3rd full year as a QB, who is still developing, who numbers factually and clearly improved from year 2 to year 3, who lost his starting left blindside protector to free agency, lost two other starters to a lockerroom scandal, who amazingly survived a franchise record 58 sacks and still tied for second in the league with 4- 4th quarter comeback wins.

Outdueled Ryan, Brady, Luck & Roethlisberger.....and yet, this poster insists upon repetitive posts trying to lay most of the blame of the Dolphins woes on him?

Taken all that into account along with this being a poster who was banned from another site for doing the very same thing....I'd say he is a poster with bad intentions.

Common courtesy and common sense should not have to be a rule. Negative references to individual posters should be the same as if it were done in person. However, some here would not fare very well for in person discussions, and are protected.

...or threads that are in the wrong forum. Like ones that aren't Dolphins related in the Dolphins forum. Man, those suck.
