Some teams would kill to be 3-4 right now. Stay positive and shoot for the wildcard.

Anyone who tracks how much time another poster spends venting about fans vs venting about the team should stop posting.

But keep on fighting the good fight, tell those fans who remain optimistic how stupid they are :rolleyes2:

Reading a couple of posts in a single thread is "tracking?" Maybe you don't know what that word means?

And please point out where I said there was anything wrong with being optimistic? The guy derailed the thread with the usual "blame the fans" nonsense. Hell, I know this team is capable of turning it around because they have clearly shown the ability (first half of this game, for example). But there are certain realities that are coming into play as the losses mount that are worth discussing, which is often confused with pessimism.

The issues you mention are legit problems. After it's all said and done, refs, players, fumbles, bad blocking etc, it falls back onto the coaching more than anything. I'd also like to see more fire from Philbin or at least more aggressiveness. He doesn't seem to have that fire, but we all knew that when he signed. Did anyone catch his press conference after the game? Were the refs brought up during the interview?

Thats the thing, I feel dupped. I know philbin wasnt an aggressive kind of coach ala, rex ryan, and or harbough brothers. But I did think he was a no nonsense kind of coach. I thought he was going to be some kind of offensive genius. He seems to keep the facilities at nova south eastern and the locker rooms clean but dump the thrash on the field on sundays i guess. I mean i dont get it. We sat here and said we needed talent. But the issue isnt talent. Its the people involved with utilitzing the talent. We have talent guys, way more talented than alot of teams in the league. We get wallace, we dont know how to use him. Who invests 60 million in something they dont know how to use? Who pulled the trigger? who was in the meetings? I mean theres a lapse in competance somewhere. We have all these players and money spent in free agency but didnt sure up anything to make these players florish. thats why other teams get our players and they do good because they recognize the talent and they craft around the players..we just have a scheme and expect the guys to just run the scheme..thats crap and oldschool man..you draft the corner backs and i havent seen them on the field yet since week 1 and 2. dion jordan...man i can go on.. this guy is getting 3rd string reps...everytime he plays he flashes..but we have no use for him.

and no I havent seen philbins presser. Not sure if i care to see it because its just gonna be more of politically correct answers...and the locker room speeches u can miss me with that. he lost me when I saw the cue card....

This thread looks like the acceptance step in the 5 stages of grief.

Hahahaha ..... between yours and Deathstar's comment that you replied to I got my daily laughs in. Those were great fellas.

I am switching modes at this point in the season, acknowledging this team isn't great by any means, but we're still in a position to go 10-6 and get in the playoffs. Sure, it's been super disappointing this season, but I'm not ready to give up.

It's a testament of your character to still be positive after all these years of the multitudes of dog and cat **** piled high that is the Miami Dolphins. You're probably making this post in jest but if you really think Miami goes 7-2 the rest of the season I wish you good luck in that venture.

3-4 isn't then end of the season. But when that 3-4 record was 3-0 at one point then the season is finished.

3-4 is the end of the season when you're the Dolphins. Officially they're a game back of San Diego for the 2nd spot. They're also a half game back of the Jets for the closest spot to being on the outside looking in. Miami does play the Jets twice and San Diego as well. If this team wants to be relevant they go at least 2-1 on those contests.

I don't see it happening.

Maybe be positive that we're not 2-5, 1-6, or 0-7? Again, as I posted earlier we have LOTS to figure out and everyone is entitled to be frustrated, ESPECIALLY with the officiating, bad play calling (2nd half trend now) etc but its not reason to abandon hope on a team thats just ONE game under .500 with 4 division games to go, and what seems to be a softer schedule coming up.

That's all I'm getting at. I know right now everyone is upset and tired of it all, but just look at the glass with a few drops in it as opposed to completely empty.

I'm not going to be positive just b/c Miami isn't Tampa Bay. My God Dolphins have some goals higher that not sucking at much as the worst teams in the league.

Remaining positive after losing 4 straight games is pretty tough bro. Especially since they were all beatable teams minus the Saints. Losing to the Ravens, Bills and banged up Patriots is just not cool.

Hey, everyone. Bengals fan here. I come in peace.

We were 3-5 after 8 last year, in what was considered the 'toughest division in football', and managed to claw our way into the playoffs. Don't lose hope until you are eliminated. You never know when your team is going to go on a roll - Any Given Sunday and all of that.

Always been a Bengals fan, but I loved watching the Dolphins when I was growing up. Marino, the Marks Brothers, Cox and Thomas at LB... great memories. All the best to you guys (after Thursday), and here's hoping for an injury free game Thursday night.

I will never stop rooting for the Dolphins. However, it is extremely difficult not to be jaded right now. After a promising start to the season, this is now three straight games the Dolphins have lost that were right there for the taking. Yesterday in particular is hard to swallow because this is probably the weakest New England team in years, and they were playing like garbage, well into the third quarter, and the Dolphins could have stomped the life out of them. Miami's running game was having a lot of success and Tannehill finally had some time in the pocket. Up 17-3 deep in New England's territory, it should have become at least a 17-point lead. Honestly, if Miami had simply not screwed up on offense the rest of the way, they likely would have won. But instead, they ended up with two missed field goals and three turnovers the rest of the way. About the only good drives New England had in the game were aided by terrible officiating and/or Dolphins turnovers.

And a word about Wallace that has probably been beaten to death already. He is the most overpaid decoy in the league and seems to only be able to catch perfectly thrown passes.....and even then he will sometimes drop them. Marshall had plenty of drops when he was here but at least he would usually cancel them out over the course of the game.

I agree completely with your assessment of the game. I also agree with your assessment of Wallace. In my opinion, drafting a number one receiver is a huge priority. We are left, yet again, with a stable of number twos and no alpha dog receiver. It isn't that Wallace cannot run all of the routes, nor is it that he does not have the physical ability, he does not have the mental make up to be a number one receiver.

I've decided not to invest as heavily emotionally in this team. I will always be a fan for life, but I can no longer let them losing ruin my only day off. I'm just going to enjoy my day of nfl football and not let it get to me.

I think you should continue to invest emotionally, and just get another day off instead.
