Something about the D I have noticed

I expect the Defense may actually shut the Bills down, I believe we have some tricks and unscreen coverage schemes that are going baffle the Bills offense.

Only gave up 13 pt's yesterday.
yep and only 17 vs pats. And really one of those tds should not have even counted as it was an illegal formation never called that even announcers saw was wrong. Don't forget with the big lead miami had, dolphins were in prevent defense probably too second half, so yards will add up and usually even good defenses relax and give up points because of big lead. Despite that the defense only allowed 13 pts as one td came from a kick off return from broncos

Well they really should have had one that was called back by a very questionable pick play penalty on the moving/not that stationary db of ours.

One major difference I have noticed with our D, and I'm going to give Fangio credit for emphasizing/teaching this (because basically nothing else has changed) , is how successful we have become at punching balls out of the hands of our opponents.

Chubb caused a huge TO v. NE when he did it chasing down that WR earlier in the game, and Holland KO'd Sutton twice. The way our players are constantly tracking the ball in our opponents hands and accurately punching the ball (and the fact we recovered all of the loose balls) def shows the emphasis coaches are putting on going for aggressive yet high yield turn overs.

Those forced fumbles were deliberately executed and the form used is so much better than watching a defender being piggy backed 15 yards by a ball carrier while he flails and slaps around aimlessly before failing and falling off the defender .

I don’t think he is. Fangio was hired to fix the defense and so far the defense has been a huge disappointment. They need to play at a much higher level to compete against Buffalo. Buffalo’s defense is playing at a much higher level than Miami’s. It would be a shame to piss away such a prolific offense by having a defense that can’t even be average.
Huge disappointment?

You realize they stopped 2 possible final game winning drives v. LAC and NE? And pushed Denver out of FG range after we lost the ball on downs on our own 35ish. They basically were given the ball in FG range and our D forced them to lose yardage and punt it. It was 21-10 at that point, could've easily been 21-17 after that drive.

Don't worry, be happy.

You think holding a team to 3-12 on third down conversions and 3 turnovers is a huge disappointment in the third game of a defensive overhaul from a scheme standpoint? I think this falls under the category of, you just can't please some people. We are all aware that the defense is getting better and will continue to get better as the season goes on. If you look at the stats from week to week that is clear. I am happy with the progress and I am looking forward to seeing how good this defense can get. Because I think it can be very good this season. I just wish we would have Ramsey back for the Eagles game.

No one should be satisfied with the way the defense has played so far. The goal for this team is to win the Super Bowl this year. The defense has to get better.
The defence wasn’t good first game but if it plays the way it has the last 2 games Miami wins a lot of games. It has only given up 17 and 13 points the last 2 weeks. Denver dropped 33 on the Commanders without any turnovers (look at how many turnovers the Bills forced to get their 37) yet the Dolphins held them to 13. The Broncos offence isn’t a bad offence.

Also, the last 2 weeks the defence has really clamped down on the run game which people seem to be missing and they are getting turnovers. It’s getting better ever week.

They’re allowed 30 points in the past two weeks. This is after playing one of the best offenses in the NFL in their house Week 1.

If you dislike yards being given up, you either don’t know what Fangio does, or are very, very easily disappointed.

The true test will be how they perform against the Bills this weekend. I don't have a lot of faith that they will slow them down. The Dolphins are probably going to have to win in a shootout like they did against the Chargers.
The Eagles had the best defense in the NFL last year and the chiefs beat them in a shootout to win the superbowl. We can't expect to shut down the best of the best but thankfully our offense can outscore anyone.

The tranny fluid seems like more of a you thing. Clearly since you brought it up, you have something on your mind. I was merely agreeing with the OP, offering up a bit of verbal guidance for future posts and you hit me with tranny fluid and bowling leagues?

Are you concussed? Tua?

Leave this poor gentleman alone, folks. He’s using words with more than two syllables, so he’s clearly tired of dealing with other Bills fans.

For that matter, he’s probably tired of dealing with Buffalo.

Do you realize the Dolphins only had one sack yesterday and that didn’t happen until the 4th quarter even though they were winning in blowout fashion from the 2nd quarter on . If Miami is going to play the way Fangio wants to play, without doing much blitzing, the front four has to greatly improve.
If you noticed, our sacks come during crunch time this season, when it really matters

One thing I noticed, I don't know if its already been pointed out, is Fangio finally moved on from Apple, and had Kader as the 2nd CB (Bethel played nickel in Kader's place) and it was immediate improvement over the previous few weeks. The Broncos got a few big plays off in the passing game, and they were generally after Wilson created...Allen does the same. The Bills are gonna get theirs, but Allen takes a lot of risks...we gotta make him pay on some of those.

I skipped most of the thread.

We lead the AFCE in points allowed due to:

1 We haven't played the Jests

2 We are not the Jests, so other teams know they need to score to win.

So why have 3 different staffs given him virtually every snap? Were they all incompetent?

If he's truly as terrible as you say, why would anyone trade for him?

No, you're not the only one that questions Baker's value. You are the only one that brings him up on a daily basis, out of the blue, in completely unrelated conversations.

It's fine. Push your agenda if that's what you truly believe. I just find it odd that our defensive coaches past/present seem to have a completely different opinion.

And yes, you absolutely have a choice.

I am always going to point out the worst players on the team, if that means I have an agenda, so be it. Typically my agenda with former Buckeyes is to prop them up given my love for The Ohio State University.

The previous coaches didn't have a choice when it came to playing Baker. He had too much guaranteed money, which won't be the case after the season, when he's one of the first players released.

The only thing he had going for him is that we had no other LB's and little means of replacing him. When you're a zero impact player making 8 figures, everyone should have the same agenda.

He's a weakness no matter how you spin it.

Also remember Flores and Boyer got FIRED.

Hard to comprehend the defense of Baker here. Especially after he chose to do nothing on the Mike Gesicki lateral play, other than watch it unfold, while most of the other defenders swarmed to the ball. Its who he is, no heart, just athletic ability.

The irony here is that I only mentioned him this week because he actually made a single (big) play.

I think we can make a move to upgrade that position before the trade deadline.
