Sounds like McCoy is probably the guy

Excellent. So in 2-3 years we'll be looking for a head coach again. Sounds great!!!!

Hiring Mike McCoy would be -- stylistically -- like putting a young Dan Henning in the job.

By that I mean, running the football like there's no ****ing tomorrow. And then running it some more. Ireland would love that because this de-emphasizes the QB and he's utterly clueless when it comes to that position (hello, first round pick Riley Reiff!). Get ready for max protect against a three man rush. Draw plays on 3rd and 7. Playing for field goals. Don't be surprised when they try to sign the likes of David Garrard or swing a trade for the likes of Brady Quinn and herald these men as "quarterbacks you can win with."

Get ready to be bored to tears if this turd gets the job. And get ready to go through this whole thing again in two years when he gets fired. Ugh.

We are the new Lions.

go ahead fellas...lap it up with a spoon...i don't trust these clowns to get anything right...they don't deserve my trust either...they don't deserve yours either but...

For those who don't like the hire (if it happens) McCoy is known for getting the most out of his QBs. As guys like Jake Delhomme and Kyle Orton had their best seasons when McCoy was working directly with them.

I love positive posts.......

there's nothing this guys done that says strike while the irons hot on him as a head coach...nothing...this guy should at least be proving himself another year in denver with tebow...

but not us...

not even a chance to prove himself Hoops?

even if he gets the best out of matt moore it won't be enough...i hope he knows the qb position is a crater sized hole...if he doesn't fix it he'll be fired within 3 years just like everybody else

i just think we're jumping the gun on this guy...a year early on this...and like i said i don't trust these guys

PER Miami Herald Armando Salguero: Philbin, the Green Bay offensive coordinator, will interview again on Wednesday. McCoy, the Broncos offensive coordinator, will interview again Thursday. I am trying to confirm when Bowles will get his second interview, assuming it is not happening today.[UPDATE: I should have mentioned this earlier, but Philbin is clearly eager to have the job. There were questions about his emtional state following the drowning death of his 21-year-old son last week. There were questions whether Philbin would be willing to relocate his family. He is willing to relocate his family, a source close to Philbin told me.]

Yes. Philbin. The guy new Oakland GM Reggie McKenzie (who worked with the Packers until a few weeks ago) won't even interview for the Oakland HC job. Yet Packers LB coach Winston Moss gets one. Oh goody.

meh, if he fails he fails and people can stand up and say I told you so and call us a joke. If he succeeds, we have a young coach with a bright future.

Again, I'm not for or against the hire. I just see that different people react to promotions differently. I've seen slam dunk hires fail and questionable hires workout.

We'll see. I'm just approaching everything with an open mind. The big thing for me would be what kind of staff he puts together. That was Cam's downfall here as he didn't (wasn't allowed) to put his own staff together. If McCoy, whose still pretty young for a coach, becomes the new guy he needs to surround himself with a strong staff to help him out
