Sources: Dolphins Knew About Martin's Problems Beforehand

Jonathan Martin is probably manic depressive. Which can be well controlled with medication. It doesn't mean that he's crazy. The problem has probably been exacerbated by the regular verbal and physical abuse from his O-line team representative and mentor, Richie. Martin is a really smart guy who has always excelled and you make his life pure and complete hell being paired up with a likely sociopath, who was probably instructed to toughen him up. Richie didn't win the award for being the dirtiest player in the NFL for nothing. And when our beloved GM was repeatedly informed by Martin's agent that there was a problem, Jeff's advice was to punch Incognito in the mouth.
As an outsider, it seems pretty obvious to me that the Dolphins didn't manage the situation very well. But let's wait for it all to come out.

So having convicted spousal absuers on the team is fine, but
A dirty players is bad?

Mr. Ross " All reports are hearsay until we hear form Martin." I second this.

Pre- draft tests showed nothing wrong

Martin was rated the 3rd best OT tackle in the draft. Yet, he slid to us in the second round, and went 5th. And that was because WE took him. I wonder if he would have slid further. You have to kind of wonder about that. Teams know things, and you don't hear it in the media or see it in print. From what we know now, Ireland had no business drafting him. At least not that high, and not expected to replace Jake Long, anyway.

Howie Long coming out and saying this isn't a surprise. Assume that Richie Incognito Sr. said what he said about Martin because he heard it from his son. Well... Howie's son Chris now plays with Jake Long, who I'm sure knows everything about Jonathan Martin that Richie Incognito knows.

I feel bad for all of you tired of this story. It's so far from over.

and that Martin is one also, that he put a gun to his head (it sounds like routinely)..... but he also said that RI is innocent, that Martin's agent was a manipulating driver in this cluster**** and essentially, based on what he wished them, Ireland and Philbin are snakes (which makes sense now that we know they assigned Incog this task, had no oversight when he went overboard and then offered him up as a sacrificial lamb. So maybe Richie Sr knows a little thing or two, eh?

Never said he didnt. Just stated i hoped he was full of it. Even underlined the "hope" part.

Last thing we need is another player in and out of the lineup due to reoccurring problems.

Passive aggressiveness is manly.

Yup. I think it's pretty funny how the "grow a pair" brigade has been so touchy during the debates about this whole affair. For a bunch of tough guys their jimmies are easily rustled.

I would have lambasted Ireland for trading for Albert but this puts a new perspective on it, although I still think it would have been dumb when we could have just signed Long without giving up a pick but this whole saga goes to show we, as fans, only see a drop in the bucket of whats really going on behind the scenes.

They are defining themselves and somehow don't realize it. Sometimes I think I use the word simpleton too frequently on boards like this. Then I read the next thread.
