Sources: Ireland suggested that Martin confront Incognito physically

So you're not happy with Harline & Wallace? Rookie CBs who have contributed nothing? A rookie tackle who can't sniff the field? Odrick & MIsi instnead of Dez Bryant? Trading up in the 2nd round to draft Daniel Thomas? Giving Reshad Jones an extension? Clay & Egnew aren't good enough for you? It took 6 years to build this OL. You're not satisfied?!?!

What a terrible fan you are for wanting Ireland to be fired.

I guess I should be....as long as they are not the worst team in the league then we should be fully supporting IReland....who cares if he can't hit on picks in the second and third round...its not like they important to building a team....

It allows punches the same way it allows clubbing, in that both are against the rules and both incur a penalty under the rules. My point is your assertion that the same rules/laws that apply to a fastfood kitchen should also apply to a major league sport is ridiculous.

You couldn't be more wrong on both accounts! I am willing to be you wouldn't want this type of lead way on laws if this were the Jets.

Your words were if its not on tape or written it didnt happen. You didnt give any context to that.
We have no clue what was said but that doesnt meant it didnt happen.

I should have been clearer ... I meant unless it can be proven, Ireland will never admit to this. So the info being leaked is worthless. Nothing to see.

For the record .... I've been a basher of Ireland off and on ... right now I want his head.

I don't see anyone rooting for failure. Their opinion is that the team improves by replacing a GM or a coach. Because it differs from your opinion doesn't make someone less of a fan than you.

To be fair, I'm openly rooting for failure. Tough love. I'm done with this regime. I have no idea who is in Ross' ear. It's proven that he doesn't know what he's doing, so imo it needs to be obvious to him that Ireland needs to be fired. My fear is that 8-8 or something similar could possibly save Ireland.

No biggie I was just giving u heck. Im not sure if the info being leaked is worthless because at some point he may get asked in an official capacity what was said. If there was a conversation he will have to say something was said because phone records wont lie.
I dont know if he said it but he has admitted to saying two stupid things before but this one Im sure if he s aid it he would be worried he might finally lose his job

People that think u cannot be charged with assault because u play football are sadly mistaken

A couple of thoughts this morning:

1. Possible Jeff was being sarcastic and then there was more to it after that? Remember, the Martin camp leaked INCOMPLETE transcripts of the Incognito voicemail.

2. If this investigation means that Jeff Ireland and Dawn Aponte get ejected into space... then maybe we owe Jon Martin a thank you.

And that was my point. There are those who won't admit it like you did but they can't wait for stuff like this to hit the team because it brings hope someone will be fired.

Then a new gm and or coach is hired without immediate success and the cycle of routing for failure starts again

Problem is as a boss you can't tell your employees to go fight each other.

I would assume Martin really felt all alone after that meeting.

It's refreshing to see your honesty but based on where this franchise is you don't need to root for failure. Unfortunately this team is cloaked in it.

Oops. The Fan Police are going to get me

Depends on the context once again which like the transcripts we are missing.

Predictable. Of course you didn't bother responding to the other post where I said there's been 1 playoff appearance in 12 years. Not enough room for nuance on that one.

Immediate success 4 losing seasons in a row is hardly impatient fans.

Pray tell what context would ever condone a GM to suggest his player assault a player?

It's actually sad that it's come to that. Anyone who knew me in the 90s and before would never have guessed that I would ever be this cynical. I remember the days of it being a foregone conclusion that the Dolphins would be in the playoffs. To suggest that they'd even miss the playoffs just sounded silly. The talk was always about whether or not we'll win the division. What seeding we'll get etc.

I want to get back to that.. It's unfortunate that so many fans have lowered their standards and think we're just fine with Ireland. The sooner everyone realizes that this team is going nowhere with Ireland and any additional wins this season mean nothing, the better of we'll all be.

Fail. Forward. Fast. :chuckle:

Im sorry as a leader or manager in an organization you cannot make a sarcastic comment implying that your player assault another player. Doesnt matter what else he said.
I wonder how that would go if I had a soldier kill himself after I made a sarcastic comment like no balls followed by I was just joking.
Im pretty sure they wouldnt care about context very much.

Even after our guys stood up against their detractors yesterday in a very admirable fashion, I still think it's blood bath when it's all said and done. I believe Ireland is finished ... after of course the rest of the domino's will fall.
