Sources: Miami would like to trade Thigpen before draft

I'm not completely sold on Henne and even less so on Pat White. It would be a really dumb idea to trade Thigpen away without giving him a chance this year.

A pre-season and some regular season experience would really boost his trade value too. The front office seems to have a poor grasp on creating value or the appearance of value.

Sound to me like you think Thigpen might be better than Henne? I'm wondering just who has "a poor grasp".

White should be moved to WR/return specialist/ occasional WILDFIN Qb. He needs to be used as a versatilie athlete as he has shown nothing that can substantiate being slotted an NFL qb in any shape or manner. If we are compelled to move a qb it comes down to Penny vs Thigpen. Who has the most upside..easy Thigpen. Who is probably the smarter qb and definitely more experienced...Penny. What is more desirable? Up to the FO to choose.

Personally, if there is a way we can keep all 3 that would be better. If something happens to Henne Penny's health is no sure matter. But, I can't see why a FO would treat White as a qb at this point unless he shows dramatic ability with his passing and gains mucsle mass and height magically over the offseason. If White being on the roster affects slotting for qbing that is not a logic I follow as agreeable.

3. Charlie Whitehurst who has never attempted a NFL pass was traded for a 3rd round pick in 2011 and the Chargers swapped second round picks in 2010 with the Seahawks.
not to mention the 2nd round swap moved SD up 20 some slots? Talk about highway robbery compared to a guy like Thiggy whom I really believe can start was well (if we didn't have Henne I would love to have him compete for the job).

The lowest we will go is fifth but I think we can fish a 4!!!
How bout this trade Cam,Smiley,Thigpen for Seahawks 2nd!!! Seahawks need all of them so why not?

Obviously it's either Thigpen or Pennington. No one is going to go after Pat White... Did anyone think we we're going to carry 4 QB's? I don't think so. I didn't think so, and for the longest time I've been feeling maybe Pennington was the odd man out, simply because they never gave into giving him a no trade clause and his value is a bit higher then that of Thigpen. I believe that because, a healthy Pennington (and by TC he should be ok) can still be capable of bringing a team to the playoffs... This team is set on Henne and "knows what we have in Chad Pennington", but Thigpen has value as well, so it's not secret that one of these 2 are going to be somewhere other than Miami next season IMO.

I hope Chad will be ready. I liked him even when he was a Jet. We got our haircut at the same place and he was always super friendly.

I think they would be nuts trading Thigpen. I do think he can give Henne a run for his money. I dont think the FO would trade a 5th for him, to just trade him later. they could have just picked up Garcia or someone for the remainder of the year. They must see something in him. They do like Skelton and Elliott in the draft though!

I thought the idea of Pat White being a starting qb was pretty much off the table. Since he has no trade value the idea was too move him too a differant position such as TE. Then we would be keeping Thigpen as #3. Pat White draft pick is still a mystery too me anyway. As critical as they are about Tebow, not many people said much against White.

This would be one of the worst moves of the off season. We basicly have no dependable backup without Thigpen. Pennington can't throw and White isn't a QB.

Man, this sums up value!

A 34 year old three time throwing shoulder injury qb, brings great value to being a 3rd team qb! :lol2:
