Speculation: Suspended Players Could Be Reinstated before Sunday!

Sudden "new drug policy"? Well I have Wes Welker on my Fantasy Team so that's good news. Rumor has it the NFL is also adjusting their "murder policy", so I'm going to pick up Aaron Hernandez off waivers. :troll:

This is too confusing for me. Are these losers going to be allowed to play or not?

What difference does it make? In our last game Buffalo beat us with a bench warmer quarterback, for God's sake. Why would anyone think that a similar thing couldn't happen again?

what the **** does that have to do with any of this?

Yeah, and I can have a beer and call it a day while people I work with would take that beer and drink more until they blackout every day. You're right to a degree about addictive personalities, but it is a disease. People who have substance abuse issues with pot might not with heroin and visa versa. Its a brain chemical thing and just because pot is thought of as harmless doesnt mean it really is. The league should know this (and I know for a fact the NFLPA does) and they should be trying to protect their players as they would from alcoholism or other substance abuse.

Not to get off topic though - I still think if its illegal in the real world it should still apply to football.

If nothing else, we've learned that the real world and the NFL world is not an apples to apples worthy comparison, and we shouldn't try to make it one. If my job drug tests me for weed and I'm found to have the equivalent of second hand smoke of THC in my system, I don't get fired. Even if I WAS to get fired I could go get another job tomorrow. My job doesn't tell me I can't work for them, or anyone else, for the next 12 months (see Josh Gordon and CFL restriction).

What the league should do in these situations is force these guys to get some sort of counseling or help and if they violate that mandate, then...Sitting around with the homies for the next 12 months, not even being allowed to train at the facility, is productive how? They need to revise these policies.

Game plan is in though...I'm sure they can help but not sure how much. Plus anyone we release will probably be signed by the Pats lol...since we have the game plan in place now.
:lol2:

Earlier in training camp the Miami Dolphins lost safety Reshad Jones and defensive end Dion Jordan to four game suspension for violating the leagues rules on PED. Both Dolphins defenders claimed to have taken supplements that they were unaware of banned ingredients being part of the mixture.

The NFLPA is faced with a decision as the NFL has been trying to get testing reform done for awhile now. The NFLPA has been dragging their feet in the hopes of getting better concessions from the NFL but with recent suspensions to Welker and Orland Scandrick of the Dallas Cowboys and more, the NFLPA is now the ones holding up the new procedures. A recent report has stated that a new deal may not necessarily open all players to reinstatement but if any players are pulled off the suspension list, the two suspended Dolphins should be.

The league and the NFLPA are meeting today and if a deal can be struct today it’s possible that both Jones and Jordan could be available for the team on Sunday. Of course if they are returned to action the team will need to make two roster moves to find space for them.

You are missing the main point here, none of our players were suspended for HGH, so this doesnt apply to them.

You're missing the point. With agreeing to HGH testing, the players union will be negotiating for a change to the drug testing policy. Amphetamines will be moved off of the PED list, and higher thresh holds for failed drug tests. So while you are right that no one tested positive for HGH (Which is no shock, because there is no HGH testing) by agreeing to HGH testing the NFLPA will have had requested changes made to the CURRENT drug testing policy, which, does effect not only our players (Possibly, I think Jordan for sure) but also guys like Welker and Josh Gordon.

So basically

NFL: Guys, we want to start testing for HGH

NFLPA: Ok, well agree to that but only if you make changes to the current drug testing policy.

AMPHETAMINES AND MARIJUANA?

i dont think so. those suspensions should be kept and the punishment for those kinds of banned substance violations should carry FULL YEAR suspension. this is not a vitamin with a substance added a player could over look. these are ILLEGAL, RECREATIONAL DRUGS and NO WAY IN HELL should these players be on the field opening day [or the rest of the season as far as i am concerned].

every player in the nfl. college, hi school, jr high KNOWS these drugs are illegal and you can not use or posses them as a member of a sports team or not. these people WILLFULLY consumed and bought illegal drugs.

wow!! welker a tweeker!! didnt see that one comming. :(

Welker has to do something to stop the continual ringing in his ears. He's a concussion waiting to happen now.

He's taken some big time hits across the middle and been seriously concussed.

I'm seriously worried about his health.

Either that or Aaron can't help himself from chuckling at that dumbass metro fauxhawk that Tommy's sporting. :chuckle:

At the game Sunday the Stadium should start doing the tomahawk chop outa respect for Tomsahawk haircut.

Seriously, if they suspend players for weed, can't they suspend them for getting a haircut that a trailer park trash 8 year old boy has?

What difference does what make - that Brady may have tested positive and the league ignored it? What are you talking about?

Gimme a break. No player is big enough for the people controlling the NFL to risk losing money over. I'll bet Kraft himself would hang Brady out to dry if Brady was caught doing drugs. Do you think all the other 31 owners are willing to risk diminishing the NFL brand because some splashy quarterback took a few uppers? It's about the money. So I think the conspiracy theory is ridiculous and that's why it doesn't make a difference to me.

As far as my Buffalo remark - we can be beaten no matter who the opposing quarterback is. Focusing on some Brady drug conspiracy is not productive - although I will agree that some find it entertaining.

what the **** does that have to do with any of this?

What I mean is that if Brady in our players' and coaches' heads, as much as he seems to be in the heads of many of the posters on this forum, then we've already lost the game. We could lose this game even if buttfumble played quarterback for the Pats, and we better prepare to kick the Pats butts and forget about this conspiracy thing.

The conspiracy theory is ridiculous and should be ignored.
