Stephen Ross on CBS morning show

Well, when the average NFL ownership is over 25 years (well over, if you count ownership that's been passed down through trusts) I'd say 7 years is a rookie, relatively speaking. If building a Patriot-esq organization was easy to do, every NFL team would do it. Don't kid yourself if you can't see that Kraft got lucky with Belichick and a 6th round Brady, now the Patriot way is the way to go. The only thing that holds true is, when your team wins, "your formula" instantly becomes the winning formula.

Also, how the reporting structure works in that facility is only really known to the people in that facility. I don't recall seeing an org chart, JD or comprehensive reporting structure published anywhere online. This is all what we've conjured up on the boards.

Again, I'm not a Ross apologist, but it seems bizarre to me how many people blame him for the team on the field not performing, when he's putting all he has into the team.

some of these dolphin fans must not remember whats been happening to the marlins for two decades

Remember or currently experiencing? Jeffrey Loria makes Stephen Ross seem like a top tier owner in comparison.

he said it with utmost confidence too. i was a bit taken back. wish he would've had time to elaborate. you could tell the hosts were looking for a quick chippy "yes bla bla bla". was almost awkward.

It's no secret that there are a number of high profile stocks that are grossly overvalued. At some point*, there is going to be an adjustment, and a lot of wealth is going to be destroyed. That's just completely inevitable at this point, and it's probably what he's referring to.

*2016

Every time I hear Ross speak about the Dolphins I hear a NON-NFL guy who reminds me of Jerry Jones LIGHT, or ULTRA Light, kind of like a straw weight in boxing.

I'd give that title to Dan Snyder since he actually tries to dabble in being the GM every now and then. But Ross is only slightly behind these two.

Let me ask this question, would you have fired Philbin at the end of last year ? That is solely on Ross and I think its now obvious he should have fired him.

Let me ask a more disturbing question, would you have hired Tannenbaum ? Well Ross did, and he has already potentially made the same mistake he did in NY (paying a QB when he shouldn't have) and has added another potential huge mistake in paying a DL QB money.

As you can see, I think Ross greatly affects the product on the field.

Correct and don't forget extending Sparano only to fire him the next year mid year too. So a guy who is "learning" has made the same mistake twice in 3 years. With his ONLY two coaches during his tenure. How someone cannot take notice of this is beyond me.

Every serious and faithful Miami Dolphin fan wants you to sell the team.

Please let us get our pride back - and you can peacefully move on with your life - whatever it is.

I am quite sure that whether you own the Dolphins or not will not appreciably change your life one iota.

For the true fan we want you to get rid of it for our sake.

Thank you and peace out!

This should be engraved on a plaque and mailed to Ross' office.

Our only hope is he has already admitted he has barely spoken to Campbell so he clearly didn't make that decision !!! Hopefully he is a young Cowher and succeeds so we don't have to go through another embarrassing search at years end...

The mantra we've heard since 1999

Well at least before Ross you could see some signs of progress and success.

At least Jones has had success and also built one of the best stadiums in the NFL. He actually makes money giving tours all day long throughout the year.

People love to jump on this ridiculous bandwagon. Main thing you want from your owner is resources, and he has provided an overabundance of that. He's a rookie owner who needs to learn the ropes and he's taking his lumps from on-the-job training.

Stephen Ross is FAR from the problem with this team.

Rookie? He's owned the team for more than 5 years and has gone from one bungle to the next, still showing no sins that he has learned from his mistakes.

He is THE source of he problems with this team. All dysfunction starts from the top... Why do you think that all the most consistently successful teams have great ownership?

Not to turn this into an economics thread, but it doesn't surprise me that Ross isn't bullish on the economy. There have been rumblings of a 2008 sequel for a while coming from Wall Street. Hopefully it doesn't come to pass...

We are on the precipice of an economic paradigm shift. With the rise of automation, the old economic system won't work for long. There will be millions of workers displaced by a machine workforce, without equivalent jobs to replace them with.

Some form of socialism is the only path forward really, unless they want mass riots in the streets.

He looks like he's getting younger. I hope he's not going all Benjamin Button on us.
