Stephen Ross Presser 11/11

I thought Ross did a great job. This was a great move for the franchise. The committee although it won't do a damn thing sounds good for the public.

As far as the team goes, Ross put a end to most of this, the only thing left is Martin saying what it is he actually wants.

You guys bashing Ross for this, have the business skills of 9 year olds. It's also a big + that it seems like Irelsnd could be done.

Just by listening to Ross, its pretty obvious....

Ireland is gone. Philbin is staying.

Sounds to me like Ireland has already been told this isn't ending well for him.

He basically said what he needed to say. The changes stuff was for the public and the investigators.
Good job of setting his stance with no obligations.

It needs to be mentioned that it is no small thing that Ireland has progressively been losing his supporters in the Dolphins organization. Mike Dee is gone...Aponte has made it known she hitched her wagon to Philbin, not Ireland...this may come down internally to Ireland not having a leg to stand on.

Based on what I've seen, a dismissal for Ireland is hugely overdue. Bad decisions on a social and professional level have plagued this franchise under his watch. More than anything, I can't think of one reason a person internally within the Dolphins would stick their neck out for him.

And isn't Shula on record as liking Philbin? This makes things very interesting.

"Says another committee composed of Ross, Garfinkel, Philbin, Aponte, and Ireland will make sure standards are being enforced."

ireland was not mentioned as he is not a part of the day to day operations of the coaching staff and players. he is on this new committee to enforce the standards the other committee deems appropriate. he is staying, and did not need to be mentioned by ross.

Lol.

On the other hand, he needed to do this press conference and the fact that a game is going on tonight allows it to blend with the game. If it happened tomorrow, that is all people would talk about. He was able to blur the two together and the players aren't going to hear what he said until after they play anyways.

Nubs, I agree with your analysis and suspect that the timing was strongly suggested by Goodell and the PR guys in the league office. Everything said by Ross going forward will be approved by Goodell before Ross gets to say it.

you can lol, but what sense does it make for ross and garfinkel to put ireland on this new committee if he is about be canned? you can't enforce new guidelines from your couch at home, or with another organization.

That second committee will do what the other committee tells them. They're useless.

It's also brilliant to put Martin on the committee considering most of the power players in media are based in ny.

I personally think this franchise did a great job handling the martin situation. It was ugly but they handled it well, no one saw this coming.

He is a brilliant businessman who began his career as a tax attorney and then got into property development. He is worth over $4.8 billion (ie $4800 million) and is a self made man.
He bought the Dolphins because he enjoys football and had the resources to do it. Comments that you see him as a clown disgust me. He appears to be a good man with good intentions, who is doing all he can to make our team successful. We should be thankful to have such a good owner.
