Many were clamoring to resign Miller and were crying over not signing him in beginning of year too. So a quick comparison on how the guy we kept is fairing vs the guy we let go:

Ajayi

Miller

And lets not forget how much each player is getting paid as well.

nope... lamar was a good back but just not worth the $$. (same with o.v. too)

Miller is a great runningback he and Derrick Shelby were the two guys I hated losing. comparing stats doesn't change that. DeAndre Hopkins only has 390 yards, 3 TDs while Terrelle Pryor is sitting at 431, 4 TDs does not mean jack other than Houston's offense is a mess. Ajayi has been great for last two weeks very happy he is living up to his potential but both players are special talent and I am just happy Miami didn't get burned by letting talent walk for once.

Yep. The opportunity to have two top RBs with different running styles complementing each other? Able to throw multiple looks at defenses? Able to not completely rely on one back with a history of knee problems? Golly, sounds terrible.

Ajayi had a knee injury early at Boise. The "bone on bone" has yet been proven to be true, so until something else comes to light I have no worries.

Miller was never worth what he got paid, he's a good change of pace back that couldn't break arm tackles on a play to play basis, he always needed the big hole to make anything happen, always ran into the safety with his head down without the intent to gonthru or past him. Good player, but not a player you worry about losing.

Yes.

RBs get injured, and it'd be good to have two bellcow RBs, each capable of carrying the load if needed.

Right now, we have to pray that Jay Ajayi doesn't get hurt. If he goes down, we'll have to throw on nearly every down. The entire offense would have to be restructured.

I liked Miller and Vernon, but they got WAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY over paid! Would I like to have kept them both, hell ya....Clay as well the year before. However not for what they got paid. Maybe Clay, as he would be thriving in this offense!

I hate when people do B vs S. They are both fine players and hopefully will have great careers. Why can't it ever stop there?

I've seen more from Ajayi in these last two games than what Miller has shown me his whole career in terms of vision, heart, and hunger.

Miller has been pretty good im not sure why this site wants to harp on him so much though. Move on he is doing well and so are we with Ajayi.

You want to laugh at a player who got overpaid who we aren't missing. Laugh at the Giants, that's alot of money for 1 sack from Vernon

And I clamored for this how many times on this board?

I wanted Dan Campbell to be retained and Miller's contract figured out giving us a czonka/murcury Morris thunder and lightning duo that takes away Tanny having to be a gun slinging hero. Got plenty of laughs at that idea.

Laughs have died down as your seeing a glimpse of what could have been with a Campbell run first bust their heads team and also the positive effect in Tanny making him a game manager rather than a Dan Marino point machine hero.

This team has a strong defensive off season both draft and f/a with a guard or two for depth and another te and this team WILL compete with the pats for division title. The Jay train offense is just what we need to negate Brady. This is absolutely do able getting the remaining pieces for a true contender this offseason as long as the Amazing Gase keeps channeling his inner Dan Campbell.

Would be nice to have them both. But with Miller here Jay probably wouldn't have the numbers he has now, and he wouldn't have made the impact he made the last two weeks.

We still need a productive RB alongside Ajayi to split the carries a little and let Jay stay fresh. Not sure Williams is that guy, but the coaches apparently love him.
