**Super Thread** Clowney/Tunsil Trade Rumor (merged too many times)

I thought the conversation went from "wtf a high priced player on a rebuilding who would prefer to be elsewhere" to "and they're giving up their cornerstone LT on a value contract and DOES want to be here?"

I think the conversation is We'll trade Tunsil for a kings ransom including Clowney and I guess Houston is considering it. It certainly makes things more interesting but Tunsil is a sure bet and although everyone LOVES picks anything we draft may not be. One thing to remember, Tunsil may have been the #1 overall pick if not for the gas mask video. We're probably not going to get as valuable a player as him with Houston's first. However if they've decided they're not going to pay Tunsil market value that could be a factor.

The Miami Herald reports the Texans have offered both unsigned franchise player Jadeveon Clowney and a first-round pick for Dolphins LT Laremy Tunsil.

Per reporter Barry Jackson, the Dolphins have rebuffed that offer and are seeking the inclusion of "another high draft pick." Jackson reports the Texans have been "relentless" in their pursuit of the blindside protector. Even though they're tanking, the Dolphins hold massive leverage with Tunsil, a 25-year-old left tackle under team control for two more seasons. The Dolphins are stockpiling picks and Bill O'Brien loves to trade them. This might actually happen.

It's not so much Houston but BOB himself. He spent money to bring in linemen that have not been good enough. Forced out their GM in a power struggle. Has remained a middle of the road coach and fans seem to think they should move on and find better options.
 
I love Tunsil but Clowney plus two 1st round picks would be hard to pass. You get a top DE and you can draft a good LT plus another first rounder. That's not bad but of course you'd root for Houston to lose every week.
 
A 1 a 3 and Clowney and I’m interested. A 1 a 2 and Clowney and I think I pull the trigger

Especially if you are gonna make me watch fitztragic.

I don’t think miamis making this trade if they think Rosen’s the guy.

I bet we meet in the middle at a 1 and a 3 and Clowney.

I’d expect this to go down within the next 48 hours if it’s happening

May as well trade off Rosen too, so that he doesn’t get killed.

Really? How can they prevent Houston from asking for Tunsil in trade? Why wouldn't Houston want Tunsil?
 
If it’s two 1s or 1 & 2 plus Clowney you have to pull the trigger....that’s almost Hershel walkeresque.

At this point, until I see the headline of a trade, I will take this as trying to find some interest in the Dolphins in what looks like the blandest of seasons and maxing out at 4 wins. ****, we even announced Fitz would start at QB and the writers in this area acted like it hasn't been a forgone conclusion since the start of camp.

I know its all speculation, but if that' the trade I'd have to imagine the Fins take it. That's just so much draft capital to build on and with the potential to trade one of those firsts down to collect more 2nd day picks you can really rebuild a team quickly.
 
I heard a few days ago that Miami wants Clowney now but will trade him for more next off season when the team can sign him for a long term deal. Right now we are past the deadline for signing him. Next June, say Seattle or Eagles can be guanenteed he's there for years not just one year. So we trade Tunsil for Clowney a 1st and 2nd. Then in June, we trade Clowney for a 1st and 2nd. Tunsil then nets us 2 1sts and 2 2nds. Now, for everybody that won't trade Tunsil for anything, do you change your minds? Having said all that, I personally will have a hard time doing it.
