Support For Joe Philbin

Why? Give me some "football" reason to support this guy? Seriously...I have yet to have one of his defenders give a good reason...go ahead...

he beat Cincy and Indy and half season to go.

he also got ripped off by officials in Baltimore and NE game. We had those games.

very tough first half schedule. I pretty much expected this record at this point or close to it.

I also blame Sherman for shorfalls.

I just want to put my support out there for Joe Philbin and his staff. Bullets flying at him from all directions, even "friendly fire" from his own fanbase. Coach McCarthy supported him on Sirius which was good to hear. I am sure that there are still many Dolphin supporters who feel that they have the right guy for the job and I am one of them. Go get us a win in Tampa Bay Joe!

Nice to see. I blame NONE of this mess on Philbin. Poor guy is caught up in some bull**** that he had nothing to do with and is taking shots from everywhere.

Get this guy a real GM and a good QB and we can win with him.

He makes no meaningful adjustments at the half
His game and clock management is poor
He does not use the weapons he has well
He continues to play players that have no business being on the field
His offense is vanilla
He tried to go to a hurry-up style offense, but couldn't because he was incapable of coaching the team well enough to do it

1. What adjustments do you expect him to make with such a terrible QB?
2. I completely disagree. Philbin manages the games, scenarios, and clock very well.
3. How do you expect him to use the weapons he has when his QB cant do anything?
4. You mean like Tannehill?
5. What do you expect when he has Tannehill at QB?
6. You mean his QB is incapable of running it well enough.

We'll have to wait for the NFL report to know that.

You seem quick to dismiss Cog and the FO without that "report"

The evidence is there, the info is there, Martin's own words are there, players are defending Cog. It's pretty cut and dry now.

I neither like or hate him. I am just not convinced that he should be our head coach beyond this season.
Convince me Joe !!

Im confused, whats with all this hatred towards Philbin? Its only his 2nd year as coach. What do you expect, a superbowl? Be patient. Cant keep switching up staff every 2 years, thats not going to help longterm.

As we all know the NFL is a win now league. Coaches like the Harbaugh brothers or Pete Carroll of recent years have spoiled most of us to thinking we should see the same quick results.

Does any part of you acknowledge Tannehill's potential ceiling? What about the fact that the O-Line was fubar? Like REALLY screwed up internally and he's getting killed. Kid has shown plenty and while a new coach may make him compete for the starting job next year I would be very surprised if the new coach finds a qb in his 3rd year that would be nearly as good as RT.

We have been competitive every game except the Saints. On any given sunday against any team theres a strong chance we will make it close. I could think of a lot of years that I would have killed for that potential explosiveness.

It seems that way, but it's not unusual for victims of bullying to try to ingratiate themselves with their tormentors. The logic being that by going along with whatever they think the tormentor wants, the tormentor will ease off. Whether that's the case here, I have no idea, but it's in the realm of what's possible and I'd be surprised if the league doesn't bring in some kind of behavioral specialist for a consult on this as they're looking at what happened. So while it may look "cut and dry" on the surface, it's more complex than you describe it.

Yup, a lot left to resolve but in the meantime...stand by the coach, Huh?

He allowed Incognito, with his history, to assume a leadership role on the team.

As opposed to what? Letting him play on the team but making sure he's not a leader? The team voted him onto the leadership committee, J. Martin included.

Joe Philbin is one of the worst game day coaches I can ever remember watching. The only one that compares to him in my mind is Randy Shannon in the area of game day ineptitude. Philbin has no idea how to run an NFL clock, he allows bizarre playcalling from Sherman and his team at times looks asleep at the wheel. This is what happens when you roll the dice on an obscure coach from the boondocks.
