I read the practice tweets and it appears that Tannehill's work against the 1s was with the 2s.
Nope. He got some reps in with the first team offense against the two's ...
Armando Salguero @ArmandoSalguero
And now Ryan Tannehill will get his first live scrimmage action at the stadium he's supposed to own in the future.
Ben Volin @BenVolinPBP
Tannehill going in with the first team offense. Fans cheer loudly
Izzy Gould @IzzyGould
Ryan Tannehill comes out to loud cheers from the Sun Life Stadium crowd.

Tannehill will guide the first-team offense vs. second-team d.
Omar Kelly @OmarKelly
Ryan Tannehill is working against the second team defense.
From Armando a bit further down the page:
Now Tannehill is with the backup O versus starting D on Inside 20 work. Different story. Incomplete, short complete, sack., FG.
Ryan Tannehill was the most impressive quarterback of the three with a chance to win the starting job. Unofficial stats have him completing 10 of 13 passes for 114 yards and one TD without an interception. Tannehill took snaps with the third-team offense against both second-team and third-team defense.

Do you mind me asking do you think if Tannehill starts too soon it will knock his confidence and ruin his development? Only reason I ask is there are plenty of experienced QBs that have had horrible outings, and to a degree to me it is how you bounce back from your failures that mark you as a great QB or not.Let's wait until we face a different team in the Preaseason before all the "He should start" or "He's not ready talk". I don't want to ruin Tannehills' confidence by playing him too early when not being ready. If he gets proggressively better at reading a Defense, making adjustments for his protection, and making better (quicker) decisions, then he will earn the right to start. I would love nothing better than for him to be a Franchise QB that's leads us to a Super Bowl victory but we have to be patient. I still think that Garrard will start the season and play decent enough for us to be in the hunt after the first 10 games or so. If the Defense can play to its potential then I see us as a Wildcard team. The bottom line is that I like the way the team is heading and Philbin has put together a great coaching staff IMO. Building a team through the Draft with a few FA sprinkled in is what wins Championships!!! Let's be patient, enjoy the season, and look forward to a bright future for this team.
give tanny some reps with the 1's against the damn 1's...enough with the 1's against the 2's or the 2's against the 1's...after this upcoming preseason game i hope tanny is ahead of the depth chart of matt moore...
i'd also like to know what starting olinemen were getting abused...

I don't agree with rushing it. This isn't a race. All in good time. They're setting Tannehill up for success. They're setting him up to impress the hell out of his teammates with throws like these (skip to the 24 second mark, and again at 1:20):
