Tannehill and Sanchez, too little experience?

Just to bash sanchez..sanchez so far.." 55.3 9209 6.51 55 51 and 17 fumbles" in three years a rating of 73.2 with his rating as 78.2 in his last year...not worth 5th overall...we shall see how tannehill does

it's about winning, Sanchez doesn't have a losing season, he has 2 playoff seasons, 4 road play wins, 2 title game apps. I'd much rather take that then have a QB who puts up better #s but doesn't make plays to win games.

You have one of the best defenses in the league..you should win...and if sanchez was anything of the prospect you drafted him to be you would probally have a superbowl ring...who knows maybe tebow is the answer...

Our D has been very good, never great. Even the best D's of all time needed quality QB play to win. If Sanchez was bad there's no way we ever win as much as we have.

why did it take 3 years for Tannehill to unseat Jerrod johnson?

Because he was their best receiver (W/ little exp at QB since HS), and Sherman thought Tannehill and Johnson would be better then Tannehill and any one of the other receivers. When Tannehill finally did start, he surprised Sherman how well he did with little time as QB since HS.

If Texas A&M had a good receiver from the start, Tennahill might have competed from day one, gotten better each year, and might have been drafted even higher then he did.

And this is the reason why I think Barkley won't be anything special either and actually believed Tannehill is a better prospect. USC churns out garbage QBs.

And TAM produces 'Elite' QB's? Getting alil crazy here people.

He didn't and there for he wasn't.

What franchise records did he set? Favre set his career hig in TDs, yards, wins, comp %, yds/att, yds/comp when under coaches besides Sherman and had his career low in INTs w/o Sherman too so when was he setting franchise records w/ Sherman?

and either way he won less w/ Sherman.

Under Sheman, the Pack had the #1 Passing offense 1 year, then the following year, they become the #1 running team.

Lets talk about recent history. What did Sherman do while at TAM? How productive were those teams? See you people want to act like his HC stint never existed.

I hope things work out. But I'm not going to sugar coat things to make myself feel better. Sherman lost alot while at TAM. And the fact Tannehill had to move to WR because he couldn't cut it as a QB says alot. He had his moments his JR year. He then followed that up with a terrible SR campaign. He isn't anymore polished than Sanchita was coming out of USC.

That's awesome but just before Sherman they won a SB, just after Sherman they won a SB. W/ Sherman they never even made a title game and lost the first postseason game in the history of Lambeau Field.

Its not just Texas A&M, the state of Texas has produced some great Qbs..just a few past ones, Andy Dalton, Dree Brees, and Matthew Stafford.. just to name a few.

Beyond that our guy who mentored and helped develop Brett Favre and whose offense set modern GB records, actually wanted Tanny NOW as compared to Sanchez's former pro HC who declared him not ready for the pros.

Supporting Cast: Sanchez had 7 "classmates" selected in the 09 draft, including 4 in the first 56. This season, I believe, the next Aggie taken after T-Hill was Bullock in the 5th who was a ****ing kicker and overall by my fast count there were a total of 3 "classmates" taken. Beyond that Ryan had something like 65 certifiable drops on him by his receivers.

So you're right: anyone who criticizes the Tannehill selection damn well better be consistent criticizing Sanchez as at the least an equal "reach" considering number of games each started, number of passes attempted, what their respective coaches thought of their readiness and their relative supporting cast of characters.

Now given all of that, I've been saying Sanchez was a reach at 5 as the second QB taken before Josh Freeman, so I will concede that my feet are vulnerable to be held to the fire for taking T-Hill @8 as the third QB taken after essentially 1A and 1B at 1&2.

Man, what outstanding fact on Sanchez and Tannehill!

I mean Jets have arrived to AFC championship games in the last 4 years even with Sanchez, not because of Sanchez.

And after re-watching John Gruden's QB Camp and hearing Joe Philbin was shocked to notice Ryan already knows the play book after just three hours with assistant coach, I find justified picking Ryan Tannehill at 8th spot. John Gruden exchanged notes with Tannehill and the kid looked more like a coach or a long time NFL veteran because of his knowledge and love for football. He explained each play like no other passer in this class (yes even better than Luck) and Gruden was impressed about his abilities.

After that, I'm sure that the "lack of experience" is going to be erased with some playing time.

Everybody thinks Matt Moore deserves a chance to guide this team, but, What if Tannehill overplays Moore and Garrard? The kid knows the system.

LOL, now people are pointing to the STATE of Texas? Seriously? And Dalton and Stafford are ... GREAT?

This is the first time I've seen someone actually use a WHOLE state to make a point. Not that Tannehills last 4 years should matter muchless his last 2 years at a 4 year college. A program that was run by Sherman and never lived up to expectations.

Seriously, the whole ****ing state? Give me a break.

Has he learned to 'look off' a Safety? Cause if not, we will see plenty of pick 6's. Just like the Texas game.

So maybe that should tell you Sherman is cut out to be a Coordinator, and not a HC.

Someone was not paying attention, while the seasons were going.

Sanchez was so unready for the NFL he helped his team to 2 title games in his first 2 seasons.

Since you love to give credit to Sanchez for those two seasons, are you willing to admit that the fact the Jets didn't even make the playoffs last season means that Sanchez has regressed as an NFL QB from his rookie season? Fair is fair!

Paid attention to what? Tannehill in 10 and 11?

As for Sherman. He really isn't anything special. As Junc has pointed out, GB was winning before and after Sherman's stint in GB. And Farve was already Farve before and after Sherman's stint. Unlike abunch of you guys here in the echo chamber. I am not falling for the hype on Tannehill. I hope he pans out. But i'm not going to be a fan boy for the sake of being one. The guy hasn't proven anything at this level, hell he barely proved anything at the D1 level. And all of a sudden the echo chamber here, thinks this guy is a elite qb. Top 1-3 QB in future. All this from a guy w/ 19 starts and loves to stare down his WR's.

Let the guy grow and progress before making such claims.

what good are more yards and pts in the reg season if you don't do it in January?

None of that work w/ Favre was as an OC anyway.

That is absolutely fair, I have said many times he regressed in 2011. His #s were pretty good until the final 3 weeks but even then he wasn't nearly as good as he was in 2010.
