Unfortunately Ireland gave the man ridiculous money out of desperation for a vertical threat. He was not a polished receiver. He was the beneficiary of many improvisations by Big Ben extending plays. If people want a toe drag catch in the back of the endzone, we're better off attempting that with any of our other WR's. This offense has to know the strengths of the skill players it puts out there and then our QB has to spread it around according to that.
well, because of how he caught the ball, with his chest, waiting for the ball to get into his body, he had to drag his feet to score. if he caught the ball at the highest point, he could have continued in stride down the sideline. the ball was not thrown too high, where he had to jump up. it was thrown right around his head/chest area. he just had to snag the ball out of the air, and continue to run straight. but because he waited, he started to fall towards the sideline. It really was a lack of awareness of the sideline. and i know he likes to catch the ball on his body, but he has caught passes with his hands, so there's really no excuse.
