Tannehill or Bortles?

I can't believe there are people who still have their number of posts per page set to the default in this, the Year of Our Lord, 2014.

Believe it or not, a lot of people don't give a rats patoot about that kind of thing. You spend a lot more time here than I do though (all day), so you're probably highly conscious of every little tweak to the functionality.

This debate is really 6 pages?

So then why should anyone give a rat's "patoot" about what you feel is too many pages on this topic? That's the point of a message board, to discuss football related topics and opinions on said topics.

Sorry. I just figured that between calling posters here 'zoo animals', speculating on what kind of drugs they're taking, and griping about how many posts there are in a thread you have contributed nothing to (except for a drive-by whine about how many posts there are in the thread) that you might have missed the "Settings" button in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

Ahhhhh, there's that selective reading again. Can't scroll down further than 3-4 comments in my posting history. I thought surely you were capable of more than that given your whining about my not changing the default settings of comments per page.:3w:

I just came here to say that the Jags need to fix that godawful helmet...

Did anyone else see the Bortles fake spike? Epic fail trying to be Marino. :hump:

Believe it or not, there is a more seat grabbing, heart pounding discussion being involved with Bortles. Somewhere on the internet on some jags site, fans are gathering up and discussing "Chad Henne or Bortles, who should start"

If Johnny Manziel was playing even near the level of Blake Bortles, the world would explode.

Ain't that the truth. Instead we're still stuck hearing about Girlziel being a backup and flippin the bird.

Well, since you would like to closely budget the amount of time you spend calling other posters booger eaters or backpedaling out of losing arguments with hilarious Nic Cage image macros, the suggestion to increase your number of posts per page seems entirely reasonable.

Especially when your only contribution to a thread is to pop in and complain about the number of posts in it, then lash out at other people for whining about your drive-by complaint.

I normally use my ipad so i actually like the ppp at 10 or 20 so i dont have to scroll to much..

Hey guys... We are all idiots that post on a dolphin board... Not just one or the other

LT is prettier but LD has the body. I'll take both.

DAMN. Wasn't aware Bortles got THAT. I'd honestly have to go with Bortles' chick.

As far as talent goes, Bortles looks damn good imo but Tannehill is our guy and I think the addition of Lazor will improve his game a TON

I'd take Bortles without hesitation. No adjusting required. He already managed at least 7.7 yards per attempt every season in college including a fantastic 9.4 last season.

Naturally the Tannehill defenders will attack based on level of competition, under the laughable notion that the Big 12 featured excellent defense. It was actually quite poor, particularly in Tannehill's final season of 2011 in which only Texas threatened to emphasize pass defense.

Besides, Bortles managed several unlikely clutch comebacks, notably at Penn State, at Temple and especially at Louisville, given the caliber of that opponent with several high pro draft picks on defense. He also thrashed Baylor in the bowl game as two touchdown underdog when it was obvious that a huge number of points would be required. Tannehill has invariably flattened out in similar situations, including college with big first halves and next to nothing in the second half.

Bortles has superior instincts and can throw on the run either left or right. He's one of the few quarterbacks who can match Tannehill moving left. There have been issues with wobbly passes but it seemed to be markedly improved in the one preseason game I watched.

Bottom line, with Bortles you get the first quarterback picked in that draft, while we settled for third with Tannehill. That's not always the pivotal factor but as I mentioned yesterday it's always a race to steal a few percent here and there, not give it away. I default to the percentages.

Based off one preseason half, one, you are willing to take a rookie over Tannehill. Bortles biggest knock is toughness, you put him behind our line last year and he'd be an accountant by now.

Why does the discussion of Tannehill so often end up here? The premise that excuses have been made is bullsh1t. Why isn't the OL sucking last year a REASON rather than an EXCUSE? For it to be an excuse, you have to believe one of these things:

A. The OL wasn't as bad as many claim.
B. A crappy OL shouldn't affect the QB's play very much.

So, which do you believe?

I reject your notion of either or. Nice try.

I have been and will continue to believe, you build your team from the inside out. So if the online is not getting it done, a lot of blame goes there. I guess my posts through last year, and my bitching of the line fell on deaf ears around here.

Tannehill, good or bad, gets the majority of blame because he's the qb. Just like others in the league. Matt Ryan going 4-12, with a terrible defense and crappy online....gets the blame. Tannehill needs to step up his game. This is yr 3 and you water boys need to understand that patience only gets you so far in the NFL, when starting qb talent is bypassed yr after yr. He needs to work on his accuracy and avoid the shell shock look displayed late last year.

Critiques of the golden child, is not a either or proposition.

And Bortles is flashing. Real impressed early.
