Ah, I was expecting eventually seeing you reply to this...I guess stats only matter when they work for you, well guess what?
When Tannehill and Luck met this year, Tannehill had a better game....Fact
Last year Andrew Luck was rated only 1 position better then Tannehill, this year Luck has improved a bit, Ryan 1 position behind again...Fact
Andrew Luck has had a more consistant O-line, Ryan has not....Fact
Andrew lost his best passing weapon, Ryan has lost to date 3 weapons that would have been instrumental in his success...Fact
These are facts, not just stats, if you wish you can ignore the obvious, but please stop crappy on each post that bring up something positive concerning the Dolphins, and start hoping/praying one day Geno will be able to turn into something close to a consistent QB, and not become another Mark Sanchez.
Clearly his coaches thought he would be fine. That's why they drafted a QB and then played Sanchez in a meaningless part of a preseason game.
:lol2:
If you honestly think that there is a single GM or coach in the NFL that thinks that Mark Sanchez is better that Ryan Tannehill right now, you are seriously out of your mind.
Straw man.....
A. I never said it happens all the time.
B. How often it happens has no bearing on it happening with the Jets.
C. A team does not replace a young QB with an unknown if they believe he was integral to their success for 2 seasons so recently.
You can choose to ignore that the team was shielding Sanchez for his first two seasons and that he imploded when given more responsibility, but I don't have to.
Yes, terrible. 68.3 4th quarter QB rating. More intereceptions (22) than touchdowns (20) and 52.5% completion percentage.
Show me just ONE franchise QB who has put up numbers that bad in their career. They don't because the good QBs play well in the 4th quarter.
Colts OL is worse than the Dolphins IMO. Luck covers up a lot of the Colts short comings.
Very interesting comparison between the two though. I'd take Luck over Tannehill in a heartbeat.
Not Really, watch how quickly pass-rusher get away from the Block of the linemen on the Colts compared to the Dolphins. Do the Dolphins have more quality players, probably, but the holes are much bigger with Miami where they exist, and Ryan has hardly any time to get the play off because of it.
Ryan can move as well or better then Luck if they allowed him, but seems Sherman has told Tannehill he can not take off if there is nobody open within a certain time, but instead hang in the pocket and try to make the play. On the other hand seems Tannehill is starting to be allowed to run if given the chance, so hopefully that will start helping the line, and keep Ryan fresher as long as he remembers to slide, and not try for that extra yard.
you mean the guy that has as many wins w/ less talent as the great Ryan Tannehill?
I worry about wins, I don't worry about meaningless fantasy #s
please stop looking at blind stats, there is absolutely no comparison btw the 2. That doesn't mean Ryan is bad but he's nowhere near Luck no matter what the #s say. It's not about the overall #s, it's about how you got there that matters.
You Tony Romo has one of the best ratings in 4th qtrs., right? Stop looking at blind #s and see what these guys actually do.
To be fair Junc looking at just wins is just as blind as looking at just stats.
I agree that blindly looking at stats is not a good method for comparing QBs. The 25 sacks versus the 41 sacks matter. I believe the main reason these numbers are different is the quality of the offensive lines, but there is a component of QB decision making maturity. It is clear that luck can manage the mental process better. I believe that the difference in experience is at least half of why Luck is further along. It is very clear that Ryan has advanced significantly in his ability to manage the mental part of the game, but it is equally clear there are plenty of opportunities for improvement.
vaark talking about morality. Priceless
I don't consider Romo a franchise QB, but I see how some could. Numbers are what we have to tell how much a guy helps his team win. I don't go by just ratings either. Sanchez doesn't play well in the 4th quarter so it's obvious his team was carrying him to wins. Well it's obvious to anyone who knows football which obviously you don't because you can't get off of Sanchez nuts.
junc talking about objectivity: Hysterical
Sanchez sucks, Geno Smith sucks, Njunc sucks. For the life of me I will never understand why posters allow themselves to be trolled by him. A troll can only troll when you let him. This guy ruins thousands of threads a year because people let him. Disgusting
