Tannehill's 6/6 TD drive - Video

And that was without Wallace and Clay. Shermann should have been fired a long time ago. I like the fake handoff, fake keeper pass (or option play). Great to see a coordinator with some creativity.

Also no Hartline security blanket!

If preseason can be believed, Dolphins offense is very much based on Chip Kelly's Eagles O. Lamar Miller should be in fantasy consideration

And the Fins passing game seems very Air Raid-esque: first play was classic Y-Cross, big play on four verts from trips, all-curl, etc. 7:24 PM - 8 Aug 2014

Good to get Brandon Gibson back out there. He gives Miami some balance at receiver.

I always like watching him throw on the run. That was a philosophically well executed drive. Clean, efficient, quick, positive plays and when there's a breakdown take advantage of it for the big play.

Best thing I saw on that drive was third down completion to Matthews. When tannehill looked at the rb, saw he wasopen but had a defender closing on him. Rt decided not to throw him the ball and hit matthews instead. Last year rt would have thrown him the ball.and not converted the third down.

Judging by the amount of attention that Matthews got on that drive, it looks like that doghouse talk may have been overblown.

Loved the TD to Gibson. Nice disguise on the play. Never saw Sherman call anything like that...

WAS JUST THINKING THAT.

Actually...whens the last time you saw ANY OC call something like that?

Regarding Landry's return, I *really* liked that. That's how you return punts. 1 move, then go. Not 275 moves, stutter-steps, and changes of direction. One. Then go.

Really like the mix of run and pass on the first drive. The running game didn't get going, but Miller looked as good as I've seen him. Without those runs, Matthews isn't as wide open. You can actually see that 55 sees Matthews coming, but he hesitates to achieve the necessary depth on his drop because of the run action to Miller.

In regard to the check down to Matthews on 3rd, it looked like the right read. The TE in the flat did not yet have his head turned, and Tannehill took the (relatively) easy conversion. On the first check down to Miller, it looked like Tannehill missed Gibson. If he holds that ball a tick longer, he has a 10-15 yard completion to Gibson. This is not a case of a bad play but a case of not the best.

Couldn't have asked for a better start for the 1st-team O. There's obviously room for improvement, and Atlanta's D isn't great, but the offense looked very sharp, and Tannehill seemed more natural than he ever did under Sherman. Exciting start!

Lobato in for the entire rest of the game...and we still had a chance to win. Not a lot of mistakes overall minus tackling and penalties which are a focus of refs this time of year.

Will Davis is a player

The only thing he could have done better was hit Matthews in stride.

I saw Tannehill scramble and then dump it perfectly to the flank, it was beautiful.

Tannehill is going to silence the critics this season, I'm so glad Sherman is gone, watching his offense was like watching paint dry- boring!!

Really? I thought that read option pass play looked awful. I know it wasn't drawn up that way.

But hopefully that's something they will get down better.
