Tannehill's 6/6 TD drive - Video

Really irrelevant, but Tannehills stats are listed at 6/6 everywhere. Wasn't he 5/6 with the Lamar Miller bobble being the incompletion?

never challenged, never over ruled. original call was a catch even though at replay it did look like he bobbled on the way down.

Really? I thought that read option pass play looked awful. I know it wasn't drawn up that way.

But hopefully that's something they will get down better.

May not have been a perfect throw but watching Tannehill scramble before passing was nice to see, especially early on. I Hope Lazor continues to use Tannehill in a more mobile manner. Tannehill has made some GREAT passes under INTENSE pressure throughout his career, many times scrambling. Of course you've seen these passes, right?

I sure hope Gibson can stay healthy this season. Also with a healthy Clay. and with a better o line I wouldn't be surprised to see Tannehill get Pro Bowl considerations this season. This guy is a true competitor and intelligent- this is his season!!

The Miller play was ruled a catch after the refs discussed it.

Ah, I just rewatched it and although the scoreboard says 2nd & 10 as if it was ruled incomplete, they actually gave them the 2 yards.

I think the play was run exactly as drawn up. First the quarterback has a read option with the back and then has the option to run the ball or hit the bubble screen. The safety commits to Tannehill so he hit the bubble screen, if the safety would have headed out to help cover the screen Tannehill keeps the ball and cuts up field. The Eagles and Oregon Ducks run that play often. There's another version where the receiver that normally blocks for the bubble screen ( Matthews on this play) fakes the block and streaks up field.

The real play I liked there was the big gainer to Matthews. They got him matched up so that a linebacker was stuck trying to cover him... and he's running wide horizontally across the field. You go back and watch Philly last season, you'll see Riley Cooper doing that all over the field, easy pitch and catch from Foles.

That's the one big thing I feel I can take from tonight's game. This offense is not going to be the "Mike Sherman Remix" that some of us feared. Lazor seems to have earnestly tried to take concepts from Chip Kelly to implement here in Miami. You can also see that with the design of the running plays. I love it.

Let me add two additional things to that:

1) Very subtly L.Miller delayed and sort of went wide. Which served two purposes: 1) It took the LB with him which opened up an even bigger hole that Matthew help exploit on the play and 2) provided another outlet for Ryan if the LB wasn't minding his responsibilities.. simply excellent!

Also, according to Omar..Wallace runs that exact same route and the results are NASTY!!!(In a good way).

FInally, I was actually pissed Lazor showed that TD play. You don't use a beauty like that in the preseason...no way!

Good play but I don't think it was that special... the key was #36 of Atlanta biting on the fake run. No one left to defend the pass once he got sucked in.

If Wallace ran that route Matthews ran it may have been a TD.

Lazor looks legit and I love the way the offense looked. I'm excited to think what this team will look like with Wallace, Hartline and Clay being the 1st team.

I thought We were being strung along when we were told we were getting A chip Kelly offense.

That was chip kellys offense, it was Identical. I'd like to see it run fAster, but this is def a step in the right direction.

we finally have an O that teams will have to gameplan for besides the Wildcat..

And this is going to be the test. Will the offense still look fluid and be productive when teams are actually game-planning for it? Because the Falcons certainly weren't.

And I am not trying to be a Debbie Downer here. I'm very happy to see that Lazor is bringing in the Chip Kelly concepts. Very happy. But I am very, very worried about our running game.
