Funny how you hold the defense to a standard of per
fection like that.

So they gave up TWO scoring drives to Cinci. So what? Why is that so insurmountable? Not only did they HOLD Cinci to those 2 TD drives, they created points for our team directly via pick 6 and a safety. That goes without mentioning the turnovers that set up 10 other points on a platter for us.

Yet, if those of us who are rightfully critical of the QB play, if we suggest a measly TWO scoring drives is asking too much of the young man, the excuses flow and the strawmans about how we cant expect him to be Peyton fly.

GET REAL.

no i expect that when you say that the defense is carrying us that the defense is actually carrying us...you know how you said before the season that the defense would have to carry this team while tannehill learned to be a future franchise qb...

you flip flop more than ck even

if carrying us is giving up leads late and asking this qb to go down the field with the worst pass pro in the league to work with and short time on the clock then yeah they damn good at it

Well you said the team as a whole is pretty damn good, then when someone proves the point against what you said you start spouting "there not perfect". Which one is it good or average?

You need to get real and stop flip flopping so much. It's becoming quite hilarious. You were nowhere to be found when the kid out dueled Andrew Luck, out dueled your lover in Atlanta and started out 3-0, nope but as soon as he started having a rough patch like ALL young qbs have you came out the woodwork with your unoriginal nicknames and that bull**** get real stuff that nobody here really cares about.

So go back to the place you came from, come up with some better nicknames and a new name for the stupid thread you post that no one gives a **** about then come on back and let's see what ya got.

Bust? WOW!
I actually think he played really well given the fact we have the worst OLINE in history!

in the bengals game, 7 pts were directly tied to the grimes td, another 3 were added on the late int at end of half to get us a fg, and the safety. that is 12 pts from defense. now u can also say that lamar miller should have scored that td which would have given us more pts, but either way, defense was solid that game. i do agree with u though this defense is not a big time defense and it rarely comes up big in the clutch.

as for the bills game, 7 pts for the bills were tied to the tannehill pick 6 for the td, and tannehill also left pts on the board, specifically on that int in the end zone down 14-0.

he deff has shown glimpses of being very good, but he needs to do this on a consistent basis. we cant win by scoring in the high teens on a weekly basis, in the nfl these days, especially with the rules geared toward favoring offenses, we should be putting up mid 20s on a consistent basis.

i know what happened in the games and in the bills game your qb gave you back the lead throwing for 3 tds after giving up a pick 6 and having a poor first quarter...and the d if it's CARRYING us should have snuffed out any and all offense from that bum thad lewis but instead we got torched by screen passes and all other crap cause the lbs SUCK balls...

the thing that does this team in on offense is the oline play folks...the run blocking and game and the pass pro when teams know we have to pass...how the hell you guys can see it any different is beyond me...and yeah you got the worst lb unit in football so congrats on that one too

this is so nauseating...do you guys realize that in the 2 minute drill at the end of a half or on a final game tying or winning drive tannehill has yet not to score in that scenario unless the protection has done us in???

do you??? i bet you don't. cause your too busy propping your stance up with meaningless stats and overanalysis as a result of em..if you protect this qb he will torch you...if you let the freaking pocket collapse on him yeah he's not houdini i know the guy has overcome a 3rd or 4th even and like 30 this year in that scenario so people expect it every time but that stuff doesn't happen...

get a grip...sacks on final drives are like a given with this team when the opposition knows we have to pass...a given...if the protection holds up he goes right down the damn field...

I am not anti-Ryan but it's silly to say "unless". he has failed in that spot numerous times, sometimes b/c of the OL, sometimes b/c of other players, sometimes b/c of himself.

I say again, What talent did we get him? Keller hasnt played 1 down, Gibson is on IR, Wallace cant catch, and no protection...shall I continue because believe me I can! Does he have his problems, yes, however he has more positive than negative, at this point in time.

awfulwaffle I totally agree with you, but be careful what u say about a Tanny because people here still believes he is the best QB ever. I never thought he has it, and he never will. Tanny is mediocre at best, and is no bet err than Henne. But like I said, be careful.

No better than Henne. You just shot your own credibility with that statement. Have you watched Henne at all during his career or no? Clearly the latter. Nothing better than clear, not well thought out, bias posts.

When a defense constantly gives up 3rd and long and can't get off the field that's a problem. Not slighting the D, the front 4 on the line are the only bright spots on this so called top 10 D, as well as Grimes and Patterson( if he can stay healthy).

I'm still on board with Tannehill. I think he's shown improvement albeit he also needs to get better.

This organisation is in disarray. One week we look good running the ball, the next we look abysmal. We had Daniel Thomas running lateral plays at Tampa FFS. Who calls that ? Anyway, one week the D looks okay, the next it looks terrible. One week Tannehill looks great, the next he looks horrible. Reality, he's a second year QB that is miles away from where we hope he gets but he looks the part. We've complained about him staring down receivers. The first TD at Tampa was in no small part because Tannehill looked off the secondary. He stared down Hartline before throwing a great pass to Matthews. That is improvement. He stepped up into the pocket, which is another part of his game we've all complained about. He has shown absolute ability to be clutch and that **** can't be taught. I don't want to throw that away and rebuild again after only two years.

I don't put everything on any part of this team. At various stages, they've all ****ed up. For Tannehill, a young QB, I think the overall inconsistency of everybody is creating uncertainty and affecting the play. This year is pretty much done, we aren't going anywhere. I just want to see Tannehill show improvement, fix the OL and then next year it's on him. I'm not giving up on a guy that absolutely looks the part after two years. Nobody right now knows just how good he could be. We could end up irrelevant for another decade off the back of throwing this guy away or the light may just go off. Either way, get rid and we'll never know. We'll be sat for another two/three years waiting for the next QB to figure it out. I'd rather at least have an extended go with Tannehill before spinning the vicious circle of irrelevancy.

it's not gonna be good...cause i'm gonna shoot barrel size holes in it...

Just here for the show, hoops. Speaking of a show, tough loss for UVA last night. Since my alma mater is in the A10, that at least helps them, but I'm not a big fan of VCU (used to be in the CAA with them also, and their fans are as delusional as VT's).

the corner play has been good the dts good as well the de's need to do more the safety play has been underwhelming...the lb play is HORRID

yeah that sucked...these new rules about contact are girling up the game...jeesh no hand on a guy ever now...terrible especially when you put the calls in the hands of poor officiating to begin with...

uvas depth this year is much better than in the past...i like it...but the ball handling from the point has to be better...
