Tebow will be starting against us on "Gator Day" in OUR stadium

He doesn't own the Canes, so I don't know how he is "selling them out". In fact, the Canes pay Ross every year for the luxury of playing in the Dolphins stadium after they lost the Orange Bowl.

I highly doubt they are going to lose season ticket holders over this. Are you telling me that if Miami hires, let's say Jon Gruden and has Andrew Luck at QB and is winning 12+ games every year(people seem to think this is what will happen with Luck at QB), that people are not going to go to Dolphins games because they held a 10 minute Gator tribute at halftime of one game? Really, do you think 5 years down the road, hell even next season that people are going to still make a deal over this? Come on now. Seriously, if you are a Gators fan, enjoy the 10 minutes. If you are a Canes fan, boo those 10 minutes. If you are a Dolphins fan, use the rest room or get something to eat. Once it is done, move on and forget about it.

No they probably won't, but it's decisions like this that make me question whether Ross has the football smarts to ever turn this thing around.

I really don't want to be suffering here, year after year, for the rest of my fukcing life, waiting for this franchise to get their head out of their arse. as it is, its been almost a 1/3rd of my life watching and hoping and getting nothing a mouth full of my own bile week after week. (yes, they win from time to time.)

this entire gator-day BS is a PR catastrophe as far Im concerned and its another embarrassment to this once proud and well run organization. I hope they haul Tebow out there and whatever true fans are in attendance boo his *** off. **** tebow and **** the broncos.

I guess Miami by all accord should no longer draft any Florida State or Florida players. Don't get me wrong even in NY I am a huge Cain's supporter and I hate State and U but honoring an in-state school is the least of the worries for the Dolphins at this point.

If Miami was honoring Noter Dame, USC or some other non-Florida team I could see the resentment but an in-state school that has contributed to the Miami roster through the years. Meh...I have bigger things to be pissed about.

1. Mike Dee, not Ross, organized this event.
2. Ross inherited Sparano, Ireland
3. Ross has not made one decision yet in regards to the football side of the team. Retaining your current staff is not a football decision.
4. People have no idea what football smarts Ross has because he hasn't had to use them to this point. His view is that the football people should be able to handle the football side, so he doesn't get involved. Lets wait until he makes a move that really changes the football side before judging him.

Exactly. Well said.

Then he needs to get his house in order. Everything that happens falls on him. Sure he inherited Sparano and Ireland, but it was his choice to keep them after last year when it was obvious that Tony at the very least needed to go. He did not Veto this Gator celebration so once again it's on him. You are right about not knowing for sure about his football smarts, but from what I have seen so far I am not impressed. The celebrity owners are part of it too. I don't mind bringing in people who want to spend money, but he shouldn't be pulling this orange carpet garbage. Let the celebs give money behind the scenes there is no reason to put them in the front of your organization.

Nub, Ross sold out his own team, to sell 3,000 or 4,000 more tickets to one game. Not only did he sell out his own team, he sold out part of his fan base, a fan base that is already ticked off at him. For many people this year it was already ENOUGH. 16,000 of them didn't renew this year already, and that was just for the Dolphins sucking ***. Now he has more fans ticked off, who don't need more reasons not to go.

If you read the Hurricane message boards, there are already plenty of season ticket holders who won't be renewing again this year, and more that are joining them if they do go through with the Tim Tebow Worship Day.

And if we don't get Gruden because we don't get Luck, or Barkley or Jones, and end up with some stupid *** lineman (Ireland will pick one, you can count on it) and some unknown coordinator as the new HC and then go for a QB in the 2nd or 3rd round, you will see even more empty seats at Sun Life. That is the most likely scenario, because its what these people have done in the past, and its hard to get a leopard to change its spots. Ireland is way too conservative and still has his ear ****ed to Bill Parcells. Trust me he talks to him all the time. As long as Ireland is here, Parcells still has a hand in what is going on.

That is why we need a clean sweep of the joint in Davie.

Lets get this straight......Miami didn't lose the OB. They moved because the City of Miami didn't follow through with promised renovations. They didn't lose their home, they left it, and it was the Dolphins that came to them. Not the other way around.

The Dolphins were going to kick the Marlins out, regardless of whether or not a new downtown or Little Havana stadium was built, and needed someone to replace that revenue.

Don't twist the story to suit your agenda Nubs.

And as an out of towner I understand you feeling this way. That is why this is not really a discussion that out of towners should concern themselves with.

But you have to remember this was a Hurricane town for 40 years BEFORE the Dolphins, and several generations of fans were loyal to them FIRST, before the Dolphins. And that is the way it will always be, and out of town DolFans will just have to get used to that.

On average the Dolphins paid attendance is about 8,000 to 10,000 unsold tickets. That is pretty bad. This year so far through 2 games that number is around 20,000 per game. The Hurricanes for at least the last couple of years(including this year so far) have an average around 25,000 to 30,000 unsold tickets per game. The Hurricanes have a lot bigger issues than the Dolphins when it comes to filling the stadium. So if a couple of Canes fans on a Canes message board are not going to Dolphins games because of this 10 minute half time tribute, good riddance. They should be more concerned about their own attendance before sticking out their chests and saying how they are going to stick it to the Dolphins.

Someone who finally gets it. When Danny Thomas put togather a start up AFL team the city for Miami and the Canes agreed to let them play at the Orange Bowl. Now the situation is reversed but the two teams have a long history of shared fan and home fields. Until now.

I'm just glad that, at least for small portion of my life, I was able to see the Canes and Fins play dominant football at the Orange Bowl. This may never happen again.

So the Dolphins went to them. Ok, so before the Dolphins came begging as you seem to indicate, where were the Canes planning on playing after they "left" on their own? What venue were the planning on playing at?

I'm so sick of the "I'm from Canada" bull**** thrown around. My family have had a Condo in Pompano for the past 20 years. Get over it. I have more of a clue about America than most of you have ever spent learning about any place else.. like someone already saying that Canadians live in Igloos.

Now to your point.. if you can refrain from the insults... You make a decent point about "principle".. that may make sense. But most of the people complaining weren't going to the game anyway.

The team has every right to try and put ***** in the seats, if the fans won't buy them. You're arguing that they aren't appeasing to the "fans".. well the "fans" aren't buying... so they are "appeasing" to people who might buy tickets. And I have no problem with that. As for slap in the face... if we get luck and go 12-2,win the division, and go to the Superbowl.. no one is going to care about this promotion.
I think you hit a nerve tyler. It's apparently okay to bash people who LIVE in South Florida, but god forbid you return the favor.

And Canadians do live in igloos, especially during the cold months of August through June.

All they are doing is trying gimmicks. Here's a novel idea, build a winning team! And not a one hit wonder with a weak *** schedule. Build a team that competes most years. That's the ONLY recipe for success. Really not that hard.
