Nope, but I'm also not the one crying about people in Miami not going, so I'm not being hypocritical in not going.

I am sure you have been to a game in Miami in the past few years. If so, I am not sure how you don't see the problem I have seen and noted here at FinHeaven. When I went this year, I felt like I walked into Foxboro. Last year, I felt like I walked into Chicago. In 2009 it felt like I walked into New Orleans. Even in 2008 there were a ton of 49ers fans.

On average the Dolphins paid attendance is about 8,000 to 10,000 unsold tickets. That is pretty bad. This year so far through 2 games that number is around 20,000 per game. The Hurricanes for at least the last couple of years(including this year so far) have an average around 25,000 to 30,000 unsold tickets per game. The Hurricanes have a lot bigger issues than the Dolphins when it comes to filling the stadium. So if a couple of Canes fans on a Canes message board are not going to Dolphins games because of this 10 minute half time tribute, good riddance. They should be more concerned about their own attendance before sticking out their chests and saying how they are going to stick it to the Dolphins.

I get yout view. Your view is that a 10 minute Gator celebration is going to lose Ross and the Dolphins thousands of season ticket holders in 2012 and beyond. I disagree. I think once 2012 starts(with likely a fresh feeling with a new coach and QB) that season ticket sales will likely go up, not down.

Someone who finally gets it. When Danny Thomas put togather a start up AFL team the city for Miami and the Canes agreed to let them play at the Orange Bowl. Now the situation is reversed but the two teams have a long history of shared fan and home fields. Until now.

I get it quite well. I was born in Coral Gables in 1960, at Gables General Hospital (the little hospital in between Coral Way & Bird Rd on Douglas Road.

I went to my 1st Hurricane game when I was 2 (in 1962) years before my 1st Dolphins game (Ironically the home opener in 1967 when rookie QB Bob Greise started against these same Denver Broncos). Hell I even was at the Coral Gables - Miami High game in 1965 in the OB that drew 67,000 on Thanksgiving night. Gables won in an upset 20-16 and won a HS mythical National Championship.

2. Ross inherited Sparano, Ireland
3. Ross has not made one decision yet in regards to the football side of the team. Retaining your current staff is not a football decision.
4. People have no idea what football smarts Ross has because he hasn't had to use them to this point. His view is that the football people should be able to handle the football side, so he doesn't get involved. Lets wait until he makes a move that really changes the football side before judging him.

I guess Robert Kraft makes a football decision ever year because he decides to retain Bill Belichick. I wonder what decision Kraft will make after this season, I hope he is ready to make that major football decision at the end of the year.

A major football deicision would be who he hires after Sparano is gone. Simply keeping the current staff is not a big time football decision, it is just staying status quo.

So the Dolphins went to them. Ok, so before the Dolphins came begging as you seem to indicate, where were the Canes planning on playing after they "left" on their own? What venue were the planning on playing at?

They had no intentions of leaving until early in 2007. They became completely disenchanted with the City of Miami, because they already were talking to the Marlins about building a stadium, and had halted talks with the U of Miami about the renovations. Shalala, Paul Dee (Miami's former AD) and the Board of Trustee's hastily did a vote and decided to move to Sun Life. It didn't take months and months, it was done in a matter of days.

hey Nubs, that is what happens when you don't put a winning product on the field. Fans fall away and go elsewhere and to other teams. Put a winner on the field, or at least look like you are trying, and the fans will come back.

And if you go to the Denver game you'll see lots of Tebows fans rooting for Denver.
This only adds to the problem you clearly stated. Only this game we solicited for enemy fans.

You should be the first person to speak against this. You favour something that is exactly what your complaining about. Having lots of the other teams fans at our stadeum.

It is not lost revenue if other fans take their place. I am sure the buzz of a new coach and QB will bring in new season tickets holders or bring back ones that left before this current season. So they might lose a few Canes/Dolphins fans because of the 10 minute halftime celebration, but they will be replaced. There are about 75,000 seats in the stadium. I am sure Ross doesn't care what Dolphins fans fill it to capacity.

Yes, he does, though his decision is FAR easier to make. When your team is run like ****, like Ross's is, the decision requires far more thought (or lack of it in Ross's case). He made his. Even had a press conference to announce his decision.

Yes it is, because its 1,500 fans that will be lost. No matter how many new ones you bring in, those 1,500 are lost. You don't need to lose these 1,500 in order to get a new HC, or Luck or Barkley or whoever.

Dude stop trying to justify this, it goes against all common sense business sense.
