Tell me again how Tannehill is a bust.

He didnt even have a good game. He had a ho hum game vs. one of the worst pass defenses in the league. We scored a whopping 20 points.

He made a few good plays today. Give him credit for that. He also made some very bad plays. Add it all up he played decent. Unfortunately for us, thats a good game for him. His fans love it though.

He's had better games than this THIS year.

Don't know where you get your info from but it's usually pretty far off.

Not surprising though...

See, this is it, right here.

Find one time. ONE TIME, where I, or most sensible humans, have labeled him "elite."

My contention is with the "he was a waste of a pick" crowd.

There is a HUGE difference.

My problem with this, is that I want ELITE! I know better than to give up on him yet, but the sad truth is, so far he is average, or even sub par. I have yet to have a game with him, that I say to myself DAMN the kid has got it! I remember those type of games with Marino, Big Ben, Vick (I saw him come in as a backup for his first game and blew it up in Miami), Brady, Brees, Rivers, etc etc. Only difference is I know this team is lacking talent, and he has to be given time. But please just give me that game where I sit back and feel confident we finally have a QB. The closest he has come to that for me was last year in Arizona, where he threw for more than 400 yds.

he needs a big azz TE.

Can we unload the bank for Jimmy Graham?

If you look at his stats he appears to be consistent. The numbers vary due defense, but are very similar. I think he is in his comfort zone, and has played in that zone for 2 years basically.

Tannehill is playing well especially under the circumstance he is under with the again "THE WORSE OLINE IN NFL HISTORY". If your expecting better QB performance under that condition, your are just extremely unreasonable. YOU HAVE TO GIVE HIM A LOT OF EXTRA CREDIT FOR PLAYING BEHIND THIS LINE.

I don't understand if you mean this to be a positive or negative?? That zone wont get us anywhere near a playoff win.

Well, we'd better hope that if that's true, his "comfort zone" expands considerably, because this level of QB play, in the absence of an absolute stud supporting cast and lots of luck (i.e., this year's KC Chiefs), isn't going to be associated with anything better than about a .500 record.

It would take lots of exceptions to the rule in other areas to get a QB with a low to mid 80s QB rating to propel a team to something significantly better than about .500.

He's not great but he's played good and has potential. Keep in mind he was suppose to sit his first 2-3 years. Sure he hasn't been a Peyton manning or drew Brees but he's been average which I don't think you can ask much more of him as of right now to be fair.

He obviously should improve that deep ball as well as blitz reads for screen passes. That would help a lot and give him more range to keep defense honest. Every once in a while we will play a defense like the Chargers who think he can hit the deep ball and that helps. But more often than not that will not be the case, he will get blitzed and pressured and results will not be there.
But he keeps chugging along consistenly this season, playing the way he is comfortable regardless of the results. He does not do more or less. He is very consistent in what he does, and I feel he has hit his comfort zone there.
That's good from the perspective that we know what to expect and can build the rest of the team based on that. But if you expect more, I think you will be disappointed.

That's fair, but if we are sitting here discussing this at the same time next year - I will be VERY disappointed. Im willing to give him more time ofcourse, but he has got to get better from this average zone you describe.

Because, seriously, it amuses the #### out of me.

Tell me again about how you find new ways for him to be a failure with your selective stats or unclassifiable intangibles.

Tell me again about how "Great QBs find a way to win." Because that's what just happened. You sit back on your laurels when the defense collapses and point at things like that. Now that the D stood up, you'll probably say "If it wasn't for a miraculous play by our D, Tannehill would be a loser again."

Tell me. Tell me about stats that actually compare favorably to Manning and Brees.

Tell me about seconds before sacks happen, which is pretty much the same as turning loose one tiger on a piece of raw meat, and turning four tigers loose on a piece of raw meat, comparing them equally, then throwing up your hands and saying "HEY, THE STATS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES!"

Tell me again how Tannehill is the next Chad Henne, when Helen Keller herself would show up, perceive the two to the best of her ability, then look at you incredulously and say, "What, are you ####### stupid?"

Tell me, regardless of what happens for the rest of this season, that this kid isn't worth the investment of letting him grow into the position. Because there hasn't ever been a situation quite like his.

Because after today, if you can SERIOUSLY do that, then just go ahead and say "I don't like Tannehill, no matter what." At least be ####### honest. Because if you don't, you're insulting our intelligence.

Stone cold truth.

The only people who bag on Tannehill are not football smart. Fans, yes. Fantasy-football fans, maybe. Stat lovers, sure. Or maybe just people w. perennial Wannestache disease -- not able to tell QB talent from a Joni Martin drag queen contest.

SMH.

I completely understand that. They are scoring basically 20 pts per game +/- 3 points, consistently. It's a limited offense, but again, it's consistent, you know what you're gonna get.
