 I really can't complain about him, he's doing his job at the plate now as well as his superb defense. But once he starts to go 1-17 again...watch out

It's weird because Gonzalez was saying the reason why he wasn't hitting in the AL was because he wasn't used to the pitchers and once he started playing the NL teams he's been a hitting machine.

If you hadn't won it all in '04 I think the reaction might be different but I think the group of guys on that team will be forever cherished in Boston.

The Sox are taking full advantage of the weak NL teams while the Yanks are floundering. This is a horrible stretch for us as the gap continues to widen in the standings.

Don't worry you guys have been racking up plenty of Wins vs the junior circuit.. No lead is safe, but the Sox are pretty healthy aside from our starters and now we are hitting the ball again..

Lester is gonna be a stud.. When he gets some better control he is gonna be deadly and rack up more K's.. Lester may have seen the last of the Pawsox..

Lester reminds me of a mix of Kazmir and Pettite. I'm just glad he's on the Sox and not pitching against them. Man he would own the Sox. I still want to see Lester pitch against some AL teams but him pitching well against the Mets is a good sign. The Mets have a good line up. That base loaded 3-2 pitch to Wright that K'ed him was nasty.

11 straight wins, another night without an error. The Sox are on a roll. Man I wish we were in the NL, we might win over 130 games.

Beckett pitched very well tonight, threw a lot of strikes and probably would have pitched a complete game if he didn't throw 15 pitches to Beltran in the 8th. Beckett going deep was big because it saved the pens arms. With Schilling going tomorrow a sweep isn't out of question and Schilling will continue to save the arms because he'll probably give you at least 7 innings.

Pedro clearly wasn't himself, he might have psyched himself out and he was nervous in the 1st inning but it was a good thing the Sox kept jumping on him and Milledge is making Manny look like Wille Mays in LF.

Is this really the best team the NL has to offer?

What a horrendous performance tonight from the NL East leaders. Pedro looked PATHETIC and their vaunted lineup has looked mediocre, at best. Is there any doubt this Mets team was overhyped? I mean, these games haven't even been competitive.

I wouldn't say the Mets are overhyped, they have a very good line up. I just think their pitching has been exposed a bit. If Pedro isn't healthy or good, the Mets aren't going very far because Soler, Tracsel and El Duque might not be the answer.

I'd say they're overhyped. They've looked like complete and utter garbage in what was supposed to be an entertaining series.

And what happened to that "very good" lineup against a rookie in Lester who didn't have good stuff on Tuesday night?

Well I would say that their record might make them out to be better than they are because of the weak NL East and NL teams on the whole. I still think they have a good line up and will probably make the playoffs. But I don't think it matters what NL gets to the WS, they're all in trouble.

I'll preface this by saying that i'm huge into sabermetrics and baseball stats. This has really nothing to do with the Red Sox on a day to day basis but soo much is made of the AL dominating interleague play and certain teams have. To be more accurate 5 teams have which are the Red Sox/White Sox/Mariners/Tigers/ and I think the Twins. It's hard to discount stats but those teams have been soo good it makes the rest of the AL look very good; which they have not been going into tonite the other AL teams were under .500 against the NL. While those 5 teams have a combined 9 loses going into tonite.

Exactly... The mets can't be overhyped anyway because everyone was asking/doubting they could run in the A.L. They can't and they're just a really goood N.L. team in a bad division.

Pedro looked just plain bad... Beckett has had a string of nice starts, and if he's consistent he'll be inconsistent and pitch 2-3 bad games before opening up again. Hopefully he can start to put it together.

Whether it's opposing pitching or not, the offense has come out over this streak. Glad to see games where we score more then 3-5 runs.

Can we end IL play? We need you guys to play some AL teams so you might lose a game or 2.

Arod likes interleague play.. He is gaining coinfidence vs the junior circuit.. Sox are on a roll but like you said to only be 3.5 games up is kinda leaves me feeling sheepish..
