I do not agree with #1 at all.
That 11-5 season happened because of many things working out our way, such as staying healthy and the success of the Wildcat. Tom Brady was hurt, which benefited us. Also, Pennington was healthy all year, and he played great (something he hadn't done in a while). We were not a real playoff team, thus Baltimore whooped our ***.
Obviously, we regressed last year going 7-9. Pennington going down in week 3, forcing us to put it an inexperienced 2nd-year QB. Pennington's inability to have 2 healthy years in a row definitely ****ed us up in 2009. We had no true #1 receiver, a garbage starting safety, and 2 of our top 3 corners were rookies.
This team overall much better than last years, and is right up there with 2008's team. Our defense is top 5, but the offense as we know, has some problems. Also, unlike 2008, we were unable to stay healthy, the injuries just keep piling up. Henne is playing very inconsistent and Marshall has not performed up to expectations (not to say he hasn't played good, but obviously not a 100-catch receiver this year). All of our **** ups have been self inflicted. Not many teams have truly outplayed us this year.
To say that this team has regressed every year is not very accurate at all. If anything, this team is the best under this regime. It just so happens we have been injury plagued.
