Jimmy Garoppolo was under center by Daniel Kilgore for a few games last season. Garopplolo was the next heir to the Patriots throne before they traded him to the 49ers. The relationship between a center and QB is very precious when wanting to win the game of football. Bill Belicheat was furious they traded him. He was supposed to take Tom Brady's place as the next predecessor, but the New England organization knew deep down inside, he would command too much money. Management had no choice to trade Jimmy G to at least attain something in return.

Danny Amendola for years was the go to receiver Brady needed late in crunch time to win. He was beside him at all times in practice, meeting rooms, and locker room, I bet Brady invited Amendola for dinner since they both have had models beside their sides. Birds of a feather flock together. The blessing is Bill Belicheat was always in both of their ears telling his players (soldiers) how to win the game (battle). Belicheat is the top head coach (General) in NFL history. NFL Football is one of the closest games to war. Each game is a battle where you either win or loose. Once you have won the Super Bowl, that is winning the war for that year.

This is the genius of our head coach Adam Gase.

I'm sure Gase is getting every secret from Kilgore and Amendola to build that winning culture this team so desperately needs. That is why the Amedola signing was genius for this team. ESPN and other soucers don't think of it like that. Players like Suh, Landry, and Pouncey love the game of football. In a realism and truth term; they love their money first.

This helps Tannehill in so many ways. Watch Tannehill breakout this season. The way I look at it is, this was a red shirt year last season. Tannehill was in every meeting and always beside Gase. Lets all hope he can stay healthy. Become the true leader of this team. The future looks very bright. Build a brick wall for Tannehill so he can have time in the pocket, to sling it to Stills.

All we need is a stud TE and this offense will look beautiful. We all know Gase wants the exact offense Manning had when he had his breakout 'record setting' career year in Denver. If Tannehill can perform a fraction of that we will be a deep playoff team.

Grier did an amazing job with last years draft. Continue to build the defense, because defense always wins Championships.

Have Ross wine and dine Kilgore, Amendola, Tannehill, and Gase on his private jet to make it a peaceful and happy transition. The throne of the Patriots will soon come crashing down.

People don't realize this team went through a lot of adversity with Tannehill being injured, Timmons going AWOL, we all know what happened with our o-line coach, and Rey Maualuga getting arrested. We were the laughing stock of the NFL right next to the Browns.

I think you hit the nail on the head. It's our team culture that has been holding us back. Nothing against Landry, Pouncey, etc., because sometimes guys work well together and help elevate the play of their teammates and sometimes they don't. That said, ultimately it's on Gase. I haven't given up on him yet, but he needs to get everyone on the same page and we need to have complete team buy-in with everyone rowing in the same direction, together.

Not sure how you can say Landry was money first and Amendola isn't. If Amendola doesn't care about money why he did he just sign in Miami for far more than he ever made in NE?

I’m reminded of the phrase used by Alan Greenspan during the dot.com bubble....”irrational exuberance”.

A few opposing thoughts.

As someone who's been in the Air Force for 10 years and has played organized football, clearly not at the NFL level but still. I would say NFL football is nowhere near the same as going to war. I've never known a player to spend a year in a foreign country or come back from playing a game or as you state go to war and return in a coffin. At the same time I've never had a friend get deployed and come back to a mansion. Also I would choose getting tackled by Ray Lewis 10 times out of 10 as oppose to getting shot at, and I also don't really think NFL players lie in bed in their 5 star hotels and worry about mortar attacks.

Every player including the one's on our team care more about money and there's nothing wrong with that, because they care about their family and life outside football. Otherwise they would sign for the vet minimum and go play for the love of the game. Amendola with his 6 million a year salary didn't sign here because he doesn't care about money, otherwise he would have stayed with his respective teams who is a perennial super bowl contender. As it stands he declined to take less money to stay with a better team.

Pretty sure I read that the Patriots shook him down time and again and he would take less money to stay.

This time must have crossed a line with him. It might have been a pride thing. There might have been behind the scenes things we aren't privy to (see the tweets to him from Gronk and Brady). Who knows.

Can't compare his situation to Jarvis Landry.
