I have a hard time saying a DH should win MVP so I rule out Papi and Thome for that award and I think Dye should get it right now.

I think Anderson is coming around. He's raised his average like .30 points but he's still under .200. Rough outing tonite they had opportunities but never capitalized. Terrible hitting with runners in scoring position when Lester really didn't seem to have command. Buehrle I think is going through a dead arm period that Garcia and Garland went through and will be alright as he had another rough outing. I hate giving up on young players and Anderson has been a top prospect in the organization for awhile and I believe he will come around. He struck out a ton in the minor leagues so he's gonna struggle in the majors but I believe he'll adjust. Joe Crede struggled when he was first brought up and now is an elite 3B in the league. I don't know if Anderson will ever be elite but I don't think it's out of the question if he'll be able to match Aaron Rowand's numbers once he adjusts.

Brady Clark would be a solid centerfielder for us, just not sure what the asking price would be. I like Anderson, but it's not his time yet.

The team has the 2nd best record in baseball despite losing the first two to the BoSox and have scored I think the most runs in baseball. Brian Anderson is not killing this team and I think he's playing much better. The only reason for the trade would be for more offense which the team doesn't need.

And he might be traded to SF for Jason Schmidt according to reports out this morning.

If that happens, just cancel the 2nd half of the season and hand the White Sox their 2nd trophy!

Why would the Giants make that trade right now? They're 3.5 games out of first place in a terrible division and 1.5 games back in the Wild Card race. If they trade Schmidt they're basically giving up on the season (I personally don't think they have a shot of going far anyway but they have a shot to at least make the playoffs due to the NL being a joke) and thus pissing off the Giant fans who are already pissed off because of the Liriano trade and also everything going on with Bonds.

The Giants can't make that trade right now. Maybe in 2 weeks if they fall off the face of the earth but they have to go for it all right now because they might not be a very good team next year due to the age of their players. They have to try and make a run now.

(Not I'm not killing the messenger, just simply pointing out how this report doesn't make sense to the Giants)

I agree with everything you wrote but I just think it will be a hard sell to the fans if they traded Schmidt if they're 3 games out of both the division and WC.

The Giants might be better off keeping Schmidt and then getting a first round pick for him in the draft.

It's a win now league but I don't like the deal. The rotation has struggled but Garland is coming around and I just believe that the guys need some rest. They pitched a ton of innings last season. McCarthy is going to be a top of the rotation pitcher, I would hate to rent Schmidt when I think the talent in the rotation is good enough. I think the staff is going to come around and I know routine is huge for pitchers I wouldn't be surprised if they go to a 6 man to get the guys some rest before the playoffs. The team has scored the most runs in the majors it's got one of the best if not the best 3-4-5 in baseball. I don't think they need to change. Maybe bring in a guy for relief but Hermanson is coming back soon.
