The Day After - Still blown away by timeouts

Bottom line is Joe is 3 games below .500. as HC. Kodak that.

That is your opinion that it helped us a little and them a lot. Clearly the coaches have a different opinion. I don't have an opinion at all, like I said it would be like trying to form an opinion on if its better to call heads or tails. But the coaching staff is 3-1 now when kodaking and 0-1 when not kodaking, so do you have any evidence beyond that win/loss record that could clear the matter up and convince me its not a virtual coin flip scneario?

Jesus.

ITS THE SPECIFIC SITUATION THATS THE PROBLEM NOT THE KODAKING WHY DO I NEED TO USE CAPS

And no, thats not my opinion and its not a 50/50 coin flip. That you think its debatable whether that TO was net-beneficial to us or not is staggering.

You still havent answered my very simple question. What do you think GB would rather us to do there? Call the TO or no?

The lack of a football IQ to agree with calling a time out there makes me wonder how some of you people actually sought out a football message board. Unless you're down a guy or someone is totally uncovered, there's no reason to call a TO after a sack to cause 4th and 10. This coach needs to go and this isn't even the main problem with this bum. It's amazing he's been around football his entire adult life and he's this stupid.

I have no idea as I don't really have the ability to read minds. Maybe Rodgers loved the look he saw and was licking his chops, who the **** knows. What I do believe is they weren't nearly as flustered and discombobulated as most of you seem to remember, but that is just my opinion. I'm sure Rodgers was perfectly fine in that situation either way though.

I do think I would love it if the situation was reversed and they called the same time out, but then Tannehill isn't exactly Aaron Rodgers.

You are correct....do people really think Aaron Rodgers and Jordy Nelson would not be at an advantage in a situation like that? These are two veterans have played their entire careers together....who would win that match up? Philbin had around 10 seconds to make a call, he is listening to the coaches call plays and trying to get the proper players on the field, if he sensed confusion he had to make a move, he did.....can't blame him for that....

As long as we move on from Tannehill I'm fine with any regime decision at the end of the year.

I cannot agree with you until I see the FA QB market/college draft.

Right now, I am not sure there is an upgrade available. I might roll again with him.

Possible FA QB's
Brian Hoyer- not getting out of Cleveland
Matt Flynn
Christian Ponder
Ryan Mallett
Mark Sanchez
Michael Vick
Blaine Gabbert
Austin Davis…Restricted

Sam Bradford will be cut and I could be sold on him.
Trade for Kirk Cousins?

The draft? Mariota? Systems guy IMO. Connor Cook? Maybe. Winston? The rap sheet gets longer and longer though I think he loves the game.

Bottom line, there is not much that is better than RT next year.

Plus, we would be competing with the Jets, Bills, Titans, Texans, and Bucs to name a few for the handful of QB's that could be out there.

Here is my take, IF you cut RT, he'd still be starting somewhere in the league.

Funniest thing in this thread: "We need to go for the juggler".

Ok, now I can move on.

PS: Philbin sucks

It would be dumb to cut RT. That doesn't mean he is the future though. We keep RT for next year and draft a young guy in this year's draft to replace him. That should be the strategy. RT isn't the dumpster fire people make him out to be. He's just a very average QB. But with the right coaching and supporting cast, he could do a serviceable job.

I agree it looks bleak, I would take Mallett from that list but I doubt we can get him. We could offer the Bengals something for AJ McCarron too. And its possible Moore is better than all those guys, Tannehill included.

I can quite easily wrap my head around that. But, like I said its not really important. If something helps you a little but helps your opponent a lot...

The Packers would want us to take that TO every time. No question. It improves their odds more than ours.

I'm coming around on this one. Reason? With out a doubt, if Green Bay could have been able spare a time out to use for this situation they would have taken it. Instead, and in my hindsight, we gave them one.

If your coach crumbles like that under stress, how can he demand that his players perform under pressure? He'd deserve an eye roll. The players can't respect a coach like that. The job is too big for Philbin.
