The Dolphin Backup Qb situation.

Does it concern any of you we don’t have a backup QB currently on the roster capable of winning an NFL game if Tua gets hurt? These guys are awful. Seems risky to carry an injury prone QB like Tua without at least someone capable of going 500 while Tua is out.

I like a lot about this current front office but I’m afraid they are too scared to cut bait on things that just clearly aren’t working.

The dream scenario is Heineke gets cut and we pick him up but honestly I might even go with a Bailey Zappe over what we have

There are several threads about our concerns with QB depth...

Skylar played well and made some nice throws. Had a couple drops too. Last week didn't look so hot, but he played well with some other staters today...

All you have to do is to read any of the many post concerning the backup QB to get your answer. Been a heavily discussed topic on this site already.

When is the last time we had a back up QB to be excited about?

Scotty Mitchell?

We dont invest in QBs, its a mistake.

No. Back ups are back ups for a reason on any team. They can catch fire but they're never gonna be consistent for long stretches.
They used to be. And we were well known to have the best.

Earl Morrall. When Griese went down, Earl got us to the Steelers playoff game with no losses.

Thats the year we were undefeated.

Don Strock. Backed up Griese, Woodley, and some guy (like Strock) from Pennsylvania, think his first name was Dan…

Strock was an animal. Pure pocket passer.

He always did better off the bench than starting. He was at his best when things were at their worst.

Matt Moore liked to air it out as well.

But the guys we have now…not so much.

That’s true but there’s still levels to it. We clearly have a bottom 5 backup QB.

The fear isn’t just long stretches. You might need them to play for a couple games or even a couple drives and you need them to not tank it.

Sadley, I believe you would be happy with those guys.
Probably for up to one or two games. - LOL
