feelthepain said:No, I think the fins have earned a little breathing room over the last 16 years to give them the benefit of the doubt, in my book. I've watched too many fin games and seen the improvements this team has made to believe they are a 4-12 team. I watch Ricky quit, D.Bo,T.Bo,L.Chester, miss the whole season. I watch DW sink to an all time low in coaching. I saw four Hurricanes disrupt more then three weeks of trainning camps, I saw a HC give his favorite QB the job over a young hungry QB willing to lay his boddy on the line for a team that by the end of the seson had faith in him and who should have been the starter from the start. I saw a whole new Oline take the field for the first time as a team last year with three weeks of camps missing from there resume. I saw too many thing go wrong last year to think it was lack of talent that made us a 4-12 team.
Believe what you want, I don't care but I this is a team with more talent and upside then the Blls. A bills team the did next to nothing to uprade their Oline running game, TE (injury), or D. And still they will be as good as the fins after only one avg. season in many years. I don't see it. They won't sweep us this year. With a rookie QB, no depth at RB, and no improvement to the left tackle spot how can they be copaired to the fins?? We have a veteran QB, we are deeper at RB then I have every seen in my life, we have some really good prospects at both tackle positions and one of the best Oline coaches in the game. Not to metion a first rd pick from last year battleing for a spot on the oline. No we are not similar at all to the bills. I think our WR's,TE's and RB are better. Thats not being a homer. Thats reading a ton of reports and opinions from experts.
FTP, did you read Tatonka's post, in no way did he say we wouldn't be an improve team from last year. He wasn't negative. I'm not saying we won't do good this year, but at this time, this moment right now, Today, I can't say that I disagree with Tatonka's assessment. Actually he's only one of a hand full of Bill's fan that even gave us credit for heading in the right direction..all he's saying is that he sees a lot of simularities in our teams. They were one game from the playoffs last year. That's more than what I would have given the team. But because of the history of this franchise, we all are saying that last year does not make the totality of this team...but at the same time, this team has got some things to prove..and that's done on the field, not in this forum..here we can dream, debate, hope, laugh, cry, fuss, but it doesn't change one thing on the field for the team. I'm a phin fan dang it, and of course I want to see them succeed. But I'm not going to say something just to say it, if I don't have evidence to support it. The truth is, none of us knows what this year's team is going to do. As phin fans we hoping for playoffs, we have rosecolor glasses on, even if we don't say that here, but when it comes to serious analysis, some of us like to take them off, so that we may make a more accurate assessment...something like what Saban's doing, thats why he tweats the personnel, he knows he needs a couple of things as he watched the practices. Do you think if we were set he would be trying to get L. Schulter in here? Do you think the Poole injury didn't hurt the team some? Do you think Chester slow recovery didn't prompt Saban to spend next year's 5th on Wright. There's questions, we're looking at them and Saban's trying to solve them.
