The offseason is tea-leaf reading season — at least for free-agent-to-be Jarvis Landry.

When we last spoke to Landry, it was just hours before the New Year and Landry had just gotten kicked out of perhaps his final game as a Miami Dolphin.

The most important question of that news conference: Will you be back in 2018?

“I don’t know,” Landry said. “I don’t know. I don’t know. Here’s what we do now: Landry enjoys communicating directly to his fans on social media, through his Twitter account.

Except he does not always come out and say exactly what he means. His Twitter feed is a bit like abstract art: People have to draw their own conclusions.

The last 2 mean to me... the longer you wait to extend my contract the harder it will be to retain me, and the organization is using my flaws as a point of contract negotiations.

Well yes, that’s exactly how it works.

He sounds like a 15 year old girl that makes everything about themselves on social media. Not surprising as his playing style is exactly the same thing. All about himself.

Its funny - If Jakeem Grant got 100 passes thrown to him this season, how many TDs do you think he would have?

Landry had 112 catches for 987 yards and a 9 TDS for a 8.8 yard YPC average.

Grant had 13 catches for 203 yards and 65 yards and 2 TDS for a 15.6 average.

101 more catches for Landry yet only 7 more TDS. Our offense revolves around a prima donna slot receiver that is limited in the routes he runs. Sounds like the key to a successful offense.

I’ll miss his 100 bubble screens and 10 personal foul calls on top of a couple fumbles. Damn it!

3 career TDs outside of the red zone... None this year outside the 10 yard line...

Landry's a good player, but at this point, I'm more than willing to see if Jakeem Grant can play slot.

Dude....I am so with you right now, the whole Landry act is old.....if he wants to move on I think the Dolphins should let him....and personally I think they want to.

Landry the good is great...he plays hard, he fights for wins, he is heart. Landry the bad is personal fouls and lack of professionalism. No one doubts that he is not a hrd working player, or one that cares about winning and being great, at times he is more concerned with making his name stick in people minds.

Honestly, with a solid draft like the last 2, the 3rd round compensatory pick we get for Landry may prove to be more impactful

Ah yes the old Randy Ratio math, that works well. Using that math Grant also had 2 fumbles on on 15 touches, how many fumbles do you think he would have with an increase in touches?

But wait Kenny Stills has 4 fumbles this year just like Landry on way less touches and 9 penalties to Landry's 7...we should cut him too right? I'm sure Ryan can just catch his own passes ala Favre 1992.

Stills was also playing with a torn ligament in one of his fingers, all season long. Perhaps that’s the reason he fumbled so much this year?

Grant scares me in there just as much as he'd scare other things. His hands are ... not exactly sure ... I could see him deflecting a few passes and causing picks. But who knows!

The posters on this thread are delusional. yeah get rid of your offensive MVP who has to catch short passes because of the lack of qb ability in total. franchise him and get a real qb in house and you will see his true value.

what do you guys do, scout on the team? makes sense

Some of you people on this thread are a joke.

Just know that the minute Juice is released, I guarentee New England picks him up and we're looking at Wes Welker 2.0.

We better f'n sign this guy.

NE would never pay him what he wants. In contrast, there are posters here who would pay him what he wants and more, salary cap be damned. That's usually the franchise's M.O. as well, though thankfully that doesn't seem to be the case here.

As for what the team will do when the slot receiver that the offense runs through is no longer here-- well, not running your offense through the slot receiver would be a good start.

Actually, we've already seen what happens when the Dolphins lose their most valuable player on offense. We've just seen 16 games of it.

sounds like you're the one making excuses now

this is the truth. he barely pays that for the best qb of all time lol. he got his much more dynamic big-name wr already in brandin cooks...and that's not a jab at landry.

a truly selfish player wouldn't have played 2018 at that salary without holding out

so I'm not buying that...there was no hold out no taking his grievance to the media etc...put his head down and grinded played out his contract

should be able to say or do whatever the hell he wants to now...

NE demands precision from their WR's. The right read, right route, etc, Juice free-lancers too much.

This team doesn't deserve him. Let him go ball out on another team so we can manufacture yet another reason why our 30 year old QB is yet to take the next step.
