It was nice to see the REFs give a Shaq a fighting chance tonight. Let's see how they call the game on Friday.

Yep, hostile atmoshere, see how the refs call it.

I've never seen Miami simply blanket out players like this. The defense was swarming, the doubles were perfect, the help defense was there, etc.

Defense wins championships. Trading baskets gets you owned or playing a close game that can go either way. What's your preference?

I'm with you, defense wins the championships!!!

Congrats heat fans. I expected a big run to start the game but it was too big to overcome and the roles were completely reversed from game 1 to game 2. Hopefully we get Game 3 but either way i'd expect a split in NJ w/ Game 5 being the obvious pivotal game of the series.

Celtics fan here to offer you Heat fans congrats on the beatdown of those jokers from New Jersey.

How is your series going? The Celts were once an elite franchise and the Nets jokes but the roles have been reversed for along time now.

As it turned out...the Heat will pay a luxury tax because of the Derek Anderson trade.

Micky Arison last summer said that he would allow Pat Riley to pay a luxury tax if the RIGHT player came along..but only the right player.

Whatever that means.

I take that as, "I don't want to pay the luxury tax, but don't want to look cheap." I can't imagine he's paying more than a million bucks or so in luxury tax as a result of Anderson. But I'm not sure Kenyon Martin and all the attendant risks are what he had in mind. If a Kevin Garnett trade presented itself, perhaps he'd swallow the $10M in luxury tax (or whatever) that he'd ultimately be stuck with.

(Oh God, here come the trade proposals. "What about Walker and Haslem for KG?! We'd be AWESOME!!!111" I feel like I've just opened the gates to Hell...)

BTW..what is Jason Kidd's contract situation?

Like I said..Eddie Jones will be cut, and you can add Ruben Patterson to that list as well of impact defenders that will be cut.

Kidd's due $18.1M next year, $19.7M in 2007-8 and $21.3M in 2008-9.

that one play by Wade was amazing, Vince Carter played good defense knocking the ball away two times and than Wade hit a 3 while fading with zero seconds on the shot clock

If wade becomes more consistent with the three point shot he will become unstoppable!!!

I think he's showing that he can hit that shot. he's 6 for 14 this postseason from 3 but if you look at just May than he's 6 for 9

FEAR Bob Delaney...that is SHAQ's nemesis...

he was a former NJ State Trooper and usually does alot of Nets games...Ira Winderman has said that SHAQ is yet to play in a game this year that Bob Delaney officiates where SHAQ is not in serious foul trouble.

Game 3 gameplan: Same thing...lock Vince down (great job by Wade and Posey so far), cut kidd loose...try to bother Jefferson as much as possible. Haslem has Krystic locked up.

Offensively..more of the same. J-Will is useful to us when he uses his speed against slower PG's...Kidd is one of them...15 point nights should be the norm for J-Will from here on out..sprinkle in a 20 point performance every now and then..

SHAQ has to just avoid using power moves versus J. Collins. Use the finesse game and PLEEEZE..take at least 15 shots at a minimum...the team plays better when he is involved.

Toine is in a tough spot with Jefferson, but he must do his best to get Jefferson in a little foul trouble...You are bigger than him..take him to the basket, force them to make decisions on wether to challenge shots or foul.

Wade...uhh..just show up and do your thing.

How did Jefferson look last night with the injury? I missed the game!

he looked great. He wasn't as explosive it seemed, but he didn't take it to the basket as much. The heat defense was really on, so the lane was clogged all night.

He hit jumpers though.

Wade is the absolute man... he took over that game from start to finish...

If he really starts getting a 3pt shot down... he will become unstoppable...

Defenders wont be able to give him a cushion anymore... allowing him to fly right by them...

That is true... Also, you think New Jersey was a little to full of themselves? The Heat just came out today angry and hungry to get this game to make a statement.

Question is was game 1 a fluke for New Jersey and this is the real Miami or are whats going happen?
