This is what teams with alot of injuries all year look like.

They didn't play very smart down the stretch....

Let me see.....

SHAQ starts dominating.....so we give him one youch on 5 trips down after we took a 2 point lead.

THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!....Just give Shaq the damn ball.
ya but you still make too many excuses for this team..they just arent playing as well as they should be

the williams trade is going to go down as a waste b/c of the tendinitis problems that he will always have

He had it before the trade. This isn't something new.

heat always seem one step away - hopefully they get it together come playoff time...
I have strong doubts. I've been very optimistic about this team, but I just don't see it. I just don't see a POSSIBILITY of this team being better than Detroit in a few months, and good enough to win one or more games on Detroit's floor while taking care of business at home. There's no question that we're the third best team in the league, but I don't think we're even on Detroit's level right now. I think we could hang with Detroit and stretch them to a seven game series, but we can't beat that team with this current roster. Not with sorry *** Antoine Walker. Not with Dwyane Wade having to take control of every game and be the only effective player in the entire fourth quarter [save Gary Payton, who surprisingly, has been the most consistent fourth quarter player on this team other than Wade]. Not with Shaquille O'Neal's laziness. Not with the lack of actually getting the ball to Shaq in the clutch. Not with Udonis Haslem's disappearing acts. Not with James Posey being ABSOLUTELY SPOTLESS unless he has the open three, which he doesn't even take all the time. Not with Shaq eating a #3 at Wendy's [triple cheeseburger], Biggie-Sized every night. Not with all these injuries.

It's sad to say, but trading Eddie Jones really killed this team. We had the defense, the veteran leadership, the chemistry, the shooters, the two star players, the supporting cast...everything. It's a real shame we couldn't of retained Damon Jones, kept EJ, and added Michael Finley and a point guard like Nick Van Exel, or even Gary Payton. I am very glad we picked up Jason Williams, but was it really worth it? James Posey has been a VERY inconsistent defender this year. I knew we were gonna get **** with Walker, but I thought J-Will & Posey would make up for it. Injuries aside, J-Will has been a fantastic player for us this year. When he takes the ball to the basket, he just opens up so much for the rest of the team. He's a wonderful player to have, and even though he's not a great defender, at least you can see the effort unlike when he was with Memphis and he had to split time with Eric Watson. I just wish we kept Eddie Jones and the chemistry this team's core had. We were what, 2-3 minutes away last year? In the lead, at home, in game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals with a VERY injured Dwyane Wade? Hah, I don't think this team will get that close with a HEALTHY Eastern Conference this year. Wait until you guys see how LITTLE Antoine Walker has to offer against a very smart Detroit Pistons team.

I am a true Heat fan, and I'll keep the faith - mostly because I believe in Dwyane Wade & Pat Riley [I'll never trust Shaq staying healthy and not being lazy]. But realistically, I'm looking at this as an NBA fan and not just a Heat fan. Detroit and San Antonio are simply better teams right now, and I don't see that changing in the Playoffs.

Seriously, I just wish Antoine Walker would disappear.....

amen - i honestly tried to be objective when walker was traded to the heat - and i stood by patiently hoping for some cohesion or anything really that would help me feel justified about the trade - fact is antoine isn't the player he thinks he is... not on this team anyway - dwyane wade is the best player i have ever seen at creating and drawing a foul - antoine is the worst - and that is a liability to our team - bottom line is he isn't worth it... and i got to admit - e.j. made me pull my hair out numerous times when he came to miami but my tune changed last year - to the point i would have lived and died with him on our team - whether he was the answer or not - he was truly a heat player - bottom line and my dolphin analogy - i'm a huge marino fan and even though we never won a super bowl with him on the team - i'm glad he was a fin and would rather have him been on the team despite any super bowl win then not ever been on the team at all - i feel that way about e.j. - he deserves to be on the heat and i wish he was still on the team...

Three things I heard on the radio that maybe you Heat fans can confirm.
1. No perimeter defense.
2. No jump shots.
3. No three point shooters.
And of coarse as, Section still harps from last year, injuries

Hey...I will harp on facts...and the facts are that this team is and has been a mash unit all year.

Had they been healthy all year..we wouldn't know where they would be.

I agree with Blue print....although...I wouldn't put the Heat at #3 right now....maybe on pure talent and intangibles..they are #3..but right now...I would say they are the 4th best team in the NBA at best....Detroit, SA, PHX,....ahead of them...and I might just give the nod to Dallas also....

These are the facts as I see it:

The Good:

A) Wade.
B) SHAQ getting his legs back and starting to dominate.
C) Riley.
D) J-Will
E) Gary Payton, He is part of our best lineup...If I were riley...I might just freak out and start the three guards.
F) That Lineup....Wade, J-Will, Payton, Haslem, Shaq.....on occasion...Walker for Haslem....the fact has been that that lineup has consistently played very well EVERYTIME they are in.

The Bad:

A) Toine. 2 good games...4 bad...3 good....2 bad....4 good...3 bad...Mr. Inconsistent.
B) Haslem, he has been the biggest dissapointment this year besides Toine.
C) Posey, How a guy with such GREAT defensive ability can be so dumb...I don't know.
D) The Heat Players Brains. This is a dumb team. No way to sugar coat it...Detroit is a smart team....SA is smart....PHX is smart...Dallas is Dumb....Miami...is the dumbest.
E) The continued effort to not give SHAQ the ball down the stretch...especially when he is dominating.

BTW...I can appreciate all this love that Eddie Jones is getting now....but do i need to remind you that there was never a bigger choker in Heat History than EJ? I couldn't believe my eyes in the playoffs last year when he actually made some key shots....EJ drives you crazy for the time he was here...now he is gone...and everybody misses him? I say...good bye.....I would have liked the deal if it was Just EJ for J-Will after what we know now....

I got an idea......since Haslem is so worthless...why not just start Toine?

BTW...as it stands now...I see the Heat making the ECF and losing to Detroit in 6....if they pull a miracle...they lose in seven.

We will see how the team developes the rest of the year....

HUGE game today...they better kill the Sacramento Queens by 20.

No, I praised Eddie Jones all year last year. He played his role perfectly last year as the third guy.

he was by far the most hated heat player last year he was so anti cluth its not even funny

It's getting painful to watch this team.....

They look like the Showtime Lakers tonight...but are giving up easy buckets all over the place.....11 point lead....BLOWN...

Up a measily 2 points at halftime.....

This is embarrassing.

shhhh... don't post this in the main forum but t.o. was sitting courtside - wouldn't want everyone starting 800 new t.o. to miami threads... :chuckle:
