It's only one game Heat fans, relax, it's all good, the Nets still got a long way to go to pull the upset. Tonight was a good start but the Nets still got their work cut out for them. Either way though, GO NETS!
i thought u were a knicks fan

Zo can say whatever he wants....hes not ready. Just look at him play. He doesnt have the lift or timing he usually does. Mabey he needs time on the court to get it back, but its not there as of now.

The only thing Riley has done that really annoys me is his inability to admit Walker was a mistake. It seems like hes continually trying to justify the actions of the clown. Hes not a SF and there is no way in hell he can guard Jefferson. Posey, Payton, and Haslem need to be on the floor....otherwise there is just no perimeter defense at all.

He's certainly not all the way back yet. But when you're down and you need defense in the playoffs, you don't go to Michael Doleac. You go to Zo. You go with a top defender and emotional catalyst.

Riley went with Doleac because he'd already conceded defeat.

What also bothered me tonight was the overall regression on defense and decision-making.

After FINALLY getting it back together the last two games, Miami went back to lackadaisical defense and lazy, ill-advised passing. I don't know what's more frustrating: wide-open 3 after 3, or insane passes we threw to Nets defenders.

Oh, and Wade just standing there "guarding" VC and forcing Shaq to pick up his 4th foul was just inexcusible. Shaq let him know about it too.

This team is just too inconsistent to be taken seriously anymore. It's been that way all year. But now that everyone is pretty much healthy, there's no excuse. All the way up to Riley. This VETERAN team had 4 days to prepare for New Jersey. At home. And they were woefully unprepared from the opening whistle.

This was the consumate..walk and chew gum game ...

Vince was the woman he is tonight..the refs GAVE him a nice scoring night...but he got crap all night. Posey and Wade did a decent job on him.

The plan looked like they were going to allow the horrible shooting team that New jersey is to shoot themselves into the toilet...big mistake..they hit their open shots...when we finally adjusted...it was too late.

Of course..the obligatory phoney foul on SHAQ (his 2nd) that sent him to the bench and burried us early...

The officiating sucked as always..but the Nets came out with a great 1st quarter and we managed to play the worst game of the year...The Nets earned their win..as much as we handed it to them..

Vince is such a puss...the guy is really a straight up coward. He was handed most of his points tonight.

If they would have allowed SHAQ to play..he puts up BIG numbers...BIG NUMBERS...

Toine looked awful...J-Will forgot that Kidd can't guard anyone anymore..and sure as hell can't guard him going to the basket...But what do you want? I have said a million times in this thread and forum, that the Heat are a dumb team...they don't realize that Kidd can't move and he is giving up easy layups to a quick guard like J-Will..

The game took on a different look when the heat slowed the game down and decided to play "safe" ball and protect and work inside...The Nets got killed that way...

The Heat will win Game 2..then a new series...but this team is dumb...

Any games Jefferson misses are games that the Heat wins BIG...

They will turn it around...trust me on this...But they got outplayed early and couldn't recover...

Good to see that Vince is still good ole' Vince though....

Make no mistake about it..the Nets played over their heads...BIGTIME, and we played our worst game of the year.

ZO sitting was BS...he changed a couple of shots and was getting in the flow of physical play...and then..BOOM..buried on the bench...

When Jefferson returns...I HOPE..they go with the Posey/Walker lineup and bring Haslem off the bench...if not..then Toine must go to the bench...

Great game by Kidd...

Looks like we got ourself a series. Hope Riley can make some adjustment to this poor showing tonight.

Ahh yes here's section to complain about the refs:sidelol: Vince didn't even play great and had a good game and as usual hit the big buckets and got the line when Miami made that little rally in the 4th(which oh by the way was almost exclusvely at the FT line but that was ok, right?)

You better hope RJ is out b/c if not the Nets are way too athletic for the Heat.

You got an old fashioned butt whooping so accept and and move on rather than the usual blame every loss in the refs whining you always do.

Dud of the Night:

Antoine Walker, Heat
Wasn't he supposed to be their third scorer to complement Shaq and Dwyane Wade? Walker finished with just four points and one assist while committing five turnovers as the Heat got steamrolled by the Nets in Game 1. The veteran forward had three turnovers, a foul and a missed shot in the opening five minutes to help fuel New Jersey's big start. He also missed all four of his 3-point attempts while doing little defensively to slow Richard Jefferson (20 points). By the end, Walker was hearing boos from the AmericanAirlines Arena crowd. At least Shaq could blame his bad night on the refs.

The obligatory smack talk after a win...

BORING.

The Nets "way to athletic" for the Heat? whatever.

Putting the guy we run our whole offense through on the bench with BS fouls was great officiating...if you want to help the Nets out of course.

I already said that they were outplayed...the heat played like crap though.

Congratulations.

We've been inconsistent as hell this year and I dont see us beating the Nets in this series, they're alot better than the crappy team that we swept last year.

They have the exact SAME ROSTER.

Their defficiencies are still the same. Believe it or not..if the Heat would have played this bad last year..they would have lost a game to the Nets also.

You can't bring the D- game...

It's 1 game, I still expect it to be a long series but it's obviosu the Nets are too quick for Miami. They will need Shaq to stay out of foul trouble to win and if he can't you won't. This isn't smack talk, why would I take about 1 win? It was a dman impressive Game 1 but there's still 3 more wins needed so it's foolish to crow after 1 game.

They have the exact SAME ROSTER.

for the most part but we have a healthy Kidd and Jefferson(until last night but he should be ok) , carter has been here a year and Krstic has a full 2 years under his belt now. If you think this is the same Nets team then you haven't got a clue. Last year we didn't beat you in the reg season or playoffs this year we have one loss- I'd say we are alot better but if you don't think so then you must be alot worse but that would throw out your "the Heat are better this year than last year" rants.
