johnson said he was happy to get mbenga back because it meant "we have 6 more fouls to use on shaq." now, after the game, he complains because the fouls were called. makes a lot of sense. intentionally foul a guy 20 times, then complain that there was a discrepancy in the number of fouls called on each team. logic trumps everything.

I'm a HEAT homer, but IMO the REF's were awful last night. They could have called twice as many fouls on the Mav's as they did. That team gets away with a TON of stuff. I also believe the REF's were trying to compensate for the loss of Stackhouse. IMO they called too many ticky tack fouls on U. Haslem last night to that end.

I agree with the ppl who say that is what happens when a player attacks like Wade does. The Mav's are not that kind of team. Really they are soft compared to the HEAT. They do not drive like the HEAT does. Then again the Mav's don't have a BRICK wall named Shaq and Alonzo playing center for them. :)

i just dont see it and i dont care who wins. NBA officiating has always been terrible.

if there is an unwritten rule in the NBA is that you dont call a foul when a player is driving to the basket as time is running out...especially not an arm grab or leg bump.

No doubt the REF's suck in the NBA. One night they can be GREAT and the next night horrible.

Un-written rule or no, Wade was fouled at least 3 times on that last drive. IMO if he was not knee'd on his left leg he was going to dunk the ball to end the game.

They called the foul on the wrong player, but they most certainly got the foul right.

I can understand your point.

But ..and this is a BIG but...Do you not remember playoff basketball in the 90's?

A hint....it's the way the heat has been playing defense WITHOUT all the foul calls on them.

It was SHAQ in the New Jersey series without all the foul calls.

I think you are going WAY back to find the purest form of the game....like the 1980's...when everybody just played ping pong back and forth....and lit up the score board like a pin ball machine...when Magic Johnson would score a go ahead basket with 30 seconds to go with an uncontested layup.

This may be blasphemy...but that type of basketball SUCKED.

Because it is the off-season. There's not exactly much to talk about in the Dolphins MBoard. And my name use to be Oliver.

How come you aren't talking about Dirk setting the record for free throw attempts in a post season? Afterall..he set that record in Game 4. (Broke Jordan's record)

but dirk takes a lot of jump shots, and everybody knows that jump shooters get to the line more than penetrators...

I was telling my nephew that last night, and how odd it was that so many of the know it alls on TV forgot all about Dirk's record.
