yeah but they could have taken on 1 bad contract and maybe gave up a nothing prospect to get a Hudsen, Liber, or Gordon. They got the money to make a move like that. Theo dropped the ball.

I mean the Yanks made 2 nothing moves. Gave up nobody and got Abreu, Wilson and Lidel and they are paying huge divdends. Boston didn't even try to make such a move.

I disagree what player who was traded would have put them over the top? Probably Abreu but the Sox didn't want that contract.

But Kip Wells? Matt Stairs?

I'm sure the Sox tried making moves, but in the end they thought it wasn't worth risking the future for guys who might not even help the team win anyway. I said it at the deadline I wasn't upset that they didn't make a move.

A quick fix was not what the Red Sox need. They needed someone to put them over the top and there was no one available that would do that.

Man, is anyone else as happy as I am to see Cano back. He's a hell of a baseball player both with the glove and the bat!

 :woot:

I think the best part of last night's game was watching Cano and Melky goofing around in the dugout just enjoying the moment of being on the Yankees in a division race and then both hitting homers. I think both of these guys are here to stay (that is why I think Sheff is gone) and I for one am happy both are on our team. The way Cano and Melky hustle is great and I think in an odd way their rubbing off on a lot of veterens. I laugh at the guys who say the Yankees have no farm system when guys like Proctor, Melky, Wang, and Cano are all contributing big to this team and are basically the new generation of Yankees as a lot of the Yankees old farm system players (Posada, Bernie, Mo, Jeter) are getting ready to sail of into the sunset in a few years!

Randy almost had a No-No last night.....the Yanks appear to be on a roll. I enjoyed last night's game.

Last night's game was exciting towards the end!!! It would've been nice to see the big unit get his no hitter, but we'll take the win!!!

I actually like Cano, believe it or not. He's a pretty damn good player, especially with the bat. His D still needs work but at least he isn't throwing balls all over the place like last year. Man those 29 GMs in baseball must be kicking himselves for saying he wasn't good enough for a bag of balls 2 or 3 years ago. I know Arizona is (although they're not the best judge of 2B talent in the world- Dan Uggla says hi and thanks).

A-Rod single handidly cost the Yankees the game tonight. I'm a huge A-Rod supporter and I'm not one of those people who say we should trade him or anything but he cost us the game tonight, PERIOD!

man we almost pulled it out tonight against the sox. o well we still got the lead on the red sox though. i think its 3 games. that melky home run was sweat.

them people that say trade A-rod are idiots plain N simple. especially when they boo him at home. i just don't get it.

Michael Kay just said on his show that A-Rod is 14 for 35 in driving in runners from third base with less then 2 outs. Only Sal Fasano is worse on the Yankees (and he's 1 for 4 and hasn't been here a month). That's not going to cut it for A-Rod if he wants the boo's at the stadium to stop!

Maybe Arod should just go see another shrink. I mean maybe the other 4 he has aren't working out for him.

Or maybe he could try and get in front of ground balls. Instead of backing off of them and trying to back hand them.

One reason while you'll never win anything meaningful in the near future. And when he leaves he will curse you. You're doomed.
