You dont' know how much I F'n hate when people write stuff like this. YES, the yanks have stuff to trade. Trading minor leaguers is a rolling the dice no matter what anyway.

Wang and Cano could have been had by about 20+ teams around 2 years ago, and every team said they were no good and not major league ready. LOL, who's laughing now!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Yanks would LOVE to move Duncan for the right player since Duncan doens't have a spot in NY on the big league roster with A-Rod at 3B for the next 10 years or so.

And its not like the Reggie Sanders and Jay Payton's of the world will be in high demand and require top prospects to get! :shakeno: :shakeno:

Ask the Arizona Dimondbacks who in July 2004 at the deadline were told by the Yanks you can have any 2 of our minor leaguers you want along with a major league player, for Randy. And they said our entire farm system had nothnig. They could have taken Wang and Cano.

Then that offseason trade us Randy for Vazquez and Hasley and some other scrub. They dont' even have Vazquez anymore!!!!!! Nice move by them. Nice job of scouting our farm system by them!

Every team has prospects and good ones at that. It's up to other teams to scout and find the diamonds in the rough. So, YES every team has enough to give up to get somebody good!

When was the last time the Yankees traded for a big name by using minor league talent?

Yes I'm aware that every MLB team misjudged Wang and Cano's talent. But that happens all the time. The fact is the Yankees haven't made a big move at the trading deadline in years due to their lack of depth in there farm system.

1) I don't have to beleive anything, its public record out of the mouts of multiple GM's that he has been shopped since Feb on a consistent basis.

2) Abreu might not even be the teams best player with the way Howard is hitting.

3) The Phills can't win without another pitcher. Move Abreu, add a pitcher put Delluci in right and the team is improved. They have enough offense with rollins, utley, howard, and burrell.

4) Jay Payton isn't Clemente. If Beane wants the world then he can die with Payton and have his OF/1B platoon of Swisher, Bradly, Kotsay, Payton, Johnson, Thomas,...etc. And have valuable guys on the bench as his team wastes away in that divison. We would be doing him a favor by taking Payton off their hands and letting dan johnson play everyday at 1b and put Swisher in the OF where he belongs on an everyday basis.

They haven't made a big move cause they haven't had too either. They have won the division for 10 years in a row, its not like they have been in panic mode most July's.

1.) Still it's going to be a tough sell to the fans if they would do that. It's a dumb move.

2.) You have a point. Howard could very well be a better hitter.

3.) What pitcher is going to help the Phillies win by getting rid of Abreu? If a team is in the playoff hunt and want Abreu they're going to trade prospects not a MLB pitcher that will help the Phillies win, because that team wouldn't get rid of that pitcher in the first place.

4.) Dan Johnson is batting over .200 with 2 home runs. Yeah let Johnson play that will help them win the division.

They weren't in a panic mode last year? Signing Al Leiter, calling up Aaron Small, bringing up Melky Cabrera and Sean Henn who clear weren't ready.

Did you ever think a reason why the Yankees didn't get a player was because they didn't have the chips? I guess we'll see what Cashman and company can do this July then.

Johnson is in his 2nd year. He started off slow, he is a huge prospect for them. He needs to play everyday. He had a big year last year for a rookie, the kid needs to play everyday to turn into the big time player he is.

What pitcher would help Philly win? Who says a team in the hunt will only trade for Abreu? Maybe a team like SF who will lose Schmidt at seasons end would part with him in return for Abreu. With ALou and Bonds in that outfield they need to get a bit younger and replace both at some point. How about if the WHITE SOX who have more pitching than they can shake a stick at, don't trust Anderson in CF and want to add a bat? How about if the Dodgers are alive in July and they want to add some much needed offense. The list goes on and on forever. They could move a pitcher for him. Or the Cubbies could start building for their future, with all of the arms they got could move one for Abreu. Want me to keep going?

SMALL PITCHED WELL LAST YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :shakeno: :shakeno: That blows your whole argument out of the water. It is smart to bring up your minor league guys, see if they can produce. If not, then make your move. They brought up Small, he pitched well. There wasn't a neeed to make a big splash for a pitcher. :shakeno: :shakeno: They tried to add a CF, but teams wanted too much for who they were offering, and FOR ONCE, we didn't just give people away for marginal players. We were smart. And in the end, we STILL won the friggin division for the 10th year in a row.

The yanks always have chips. It's called $$$$$$$$$$$. They can take on a BAD contract something most teams can't do.Like the Sox did with the Beckett deal this year. Want beckett, then take Lowell as well with his hug econtract. The Yanks problem is never about having enough chips. They have chips. It's about being smart with them.

Actually the White Sox would make sense, they could trade Philly someone like Garland or McCarthy and a few prospects. Schmidt is an interesting thought too.

Ok you missed my whole point about how the Yankees were in panic mode. I'm sorry but if you honestly think that if the Yankees could make a deal for a big time player last year they wouldn't because Small was pitching well you're out of your mind. Even with Small pitching well the Yankees would have added if they could. Hell in 1998-2000 when they were blowing teams away they still added guys even if it made no sense.

Again the goal is to win the World Series, not the division, did they really think they could win the WS with the pitchers that they had last year? Come on.

What chips do the Yankees have them, since they have chips. Name them. Because I know their minor league system fairly well and all I see is Duncan and Hughes that have real value.

CJ Henry, Jose Tabata, Austin Jackson, Eric Duncan, Phillip Hughes, and Eduardo Nunez just to name a couple.

Jackson and tabata could be big-time bats for us in a few years in the outfield positions. Unless Duncan can learn to play 1B he has no value for us at the Major League level with A-Rod at 3B. He is the one guy we can move and maybe bring back something of value this July.
