I've been away for a while on vacation, but thanks for welcoming me back with some comedy relief.

Wang won't sniff the Cy Young and that's a fact. He's not on the level of Liriano, Santana, Papelbon, Halladay and even Verlander with his recent injury.

:sidelol: :sidelol:  :sidelol: I think we can cross Papelbon off the list after yesterday.

Yeah 4 runs allowed all year, cross him right off that list!

Do you realize how ridiculous you sound?

Not as crazy as you thinking a closer who won't even reach 50 saves will win the CY YOUNG :sidelol: :sidelol: :sidelol: :shakeno: :shakeno: :sidelol:

Brutal stretch of schedule ahead. 21 games in 20 days.

Who said that? Surely not me. He's miles ahead of Wang on that Cy Young list, though.

Liriano HAS to be in the lead right now (but who knows with his recent arm problems). He had a bad start against Detroit last night too, mind as well cross him off the list completely.

What a joke!

Reports on ESPN have Liriano headed to the DL. Hard to with a Cy Young from there....

p.s.- The Yanks Wang is awesome.....

Which is why I stated his chances depended on the severity of his arm problems, way to read through my post.

Wang is good, he's just not on the Papelbon, Santana, Halladay, Liriano (to this point), Verlander level.

I find it interesting that you were campaigning for Rivera to win the Cy Young award last year when he only saved 43 games. Talk about contradictions.

Anyway Papelbon might not even get 50 opportunities this year so should we hold that against him? Maybe, maybe not. The guy is still having the best year out of any reliever in history ERA wise. And only giving up 4 runs through the month of August is damn impressive. Even Red Sox haters have to admit that.

I think Wang and Papelbon are both in the running for CY Young along with Verlander, Halladay, Santana, and others I'm probably leaving out. It's obviously going to come down to these last important starts (or save opportunity's) of the year but I think it's laughable for anyone to say that Papelbon or Wang have no chance to win the award when both are right in the thick of the running IMO!

I agree. It's August 8th, a lot can happen between now and October 1st. Papelbon could have a huge melt down.... ditto for Wang, Halladay, Santana or whoever. Liriano or Verlander might not even pitch another inning this year and if so they won't have a strong case. Other pitchers in the running now could get hurt. Who knows. These MVP/Cy Young, ROY races are all going to come down to the last week of the season therefore all this talk is pointless.

.

Because there was absolutly nobody else in the AL who had a good year with the exception of Colon. This year is different you have 4 or 5 starters having good years.
