well 10 mill is minimum wage for the yankees

Really, cause, yeah, guys like Proctor are making that much.

Wang, Cano, Proctor all making less than half a million and have been huge players this season. And the guys who make over 10 mill I'd take over Hunter any day of the week.

i think the Yanks are an auotmatic playoff team now. I see them going really far in the playoffs if not all the way with all the playoff experience on that team

Well tonight was a lost cause. Lidle sucked and the offense never got the hits they needed to get to claw back into the game. Wang is on the mound tomorrow so hopefully the team bounces back!

Jeter has my vote. Although if Ortiz didn't get hurt and the Sox didn't fall flat it would have been interesting to see if Ortiz would have been able to win it (although if he didn't I wouldn't mind if Jeter did, because he's having a career year).

EDIT NOTE: I don't want to turn this into a debate of whether or not a DH should win it or whatever. I was just thinking/typing out loud.

I think had he not had the medical problem and had Bos stayed in the race then Ortiz would have won it this year though I think Ortiz deserved it last year and Jeter deserves it more this year.

Ortiz did NOT deserve it last year. He and Arod had equal numbers so it did come down to the DH vs playing the field. Plus, Ortiz sat out a game in NY cause Randy was pitching in early September in the middle of a race. If your an MVP you don't sit out a game in Sep vs the team that is chasing you. That did cost him with many long-time voters. So, AROD deserved it last year.

This year, if Ortiz didn't get hurt, and hit 55+ home runs and knocked in 150+ RBI's like he was on pace for........then he would have won no matter how far Boston fell in the standings.

Looks like Wright and Mussina won't be back next year.

Wright is supposed to make $7 mill next year. In his contract NY can buy him out for $4 mill and let him walk. That is expected.

Mussina has a $17 mill club option. NY has told him they won't pick that up. NY will offer a 2 year deal around $10 mill and Mussina thinks he might be able to get more elsewhere. Mussina (who is all class) has told the front office the 15 day window NY has for "exclusive" talks before he can talk to other teams he will work hard to get something done in NY and do his best to stay.

I expect some team to give Mussiana more than that. It will come down to whether he wants to stay in NY or not. But if Mussina went to the NL he could be an ace and win 20+ and make more money. So, who knows.
