The Official 2006 New York Yankees Thread!

well I hope the day never comes where I have to start a pitcher with my life depending on it :shakeno: :shakeno: :shakeno: :shakeno:

But if your asking TODAY to name the Top 5 pitchers in MLB, yes Carlos Zambrano is in the Top 5

No love for Carpenter? I'd probably have him instead of Webb, but I agree with the others more or less.

The Red Sox season is now over after tonights games.

Same time next year boys.

Hopefully BOSTON MASSACARE III comes sooner than Boston Massacre II. I hate waiting so long for sequels.

I wonder what happened to Coco Crisp being better then Johnny Damon, how Bronson Arroyo wasn't needed because Boston has so many starters, how Josh Beckett was going to dominate now that he was in a Sox uniform, and how Curt Schilling was going to win 20 games? Oh I know a Red Sox fans answer.....you guys choked in 2004 LMAO!

By the way, if any one's seen Manny Ramirez please contact the missing person's department of the FBI!

But wait............all of those great young prospects. I mean come on. And Willy Mo Pena is the best! Palpebon is the next Marino!

How's Hanley Rameriz doing down with the Marlins? :sidelol: :sidelol: Didn't Sanchez throw a no-no.:D

And I think I have a Manny siting. I think he drew a walk tonight and "ran it out" to 1st base! Strictly rumor though......I can't confirm.

Yeah, all the great prospects who haven't shown any thing on the major league level. Plus who needs Bronson Arroyo, he stinks because he has a 3.38 ERA which is horrible . Oh and Willy Mo Pena is going to be a beast....if he ever makes contact with the ball. They keep telling themselves "he's only 24 guys, he's only 24." Last time I checked, Arroyo is only 29!

The Red Sox remind me of George Bush. First we were going to Iraq because they had weapons of mass destruction, no we're there to bring democracy. First the Red Sox were going to win the World Series this year and when **** hit the fan, now their planning for the future and 06 was a throw away year. I love how they go from one extreme to another!

Well the ones they gave to the MARLINS this year showed soemthing :sidelol: :sidelol: :sidelol: :sidelol: :sidelol: :sidelol:

Out of the "major moves"................

Who did they get rid of after 2005..... Damon, Edgar, Arroyo, Hanley, and Sanchez ALL HAD GREAT 2006 seasons

Who did they bring in after 2005.... Coco, Beckett, Willy Mo, and Tavarez. All had terrible years IN Boston.

Not to mention that big trading deadline move to help them.......oh wait, nevermind. Way to go Theo!

This is great. Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunn knocking the Red Sox.

But anyway reading some of these comments are pretty funny. First I don't remember anyone calling Papelbon the next Rivera, but hey he had a great season which was cut short by an injury. He put up better numbers than Rivera (minus the blown saves) so I don't know how you could knock the guy.

The team sucked though minus Ortiz so I can't really defend anyone else. As for the Wily Mo thing let's let him play a full year before we kill the Arroyo deal because let's be real here Arroyo wasn't the difference between the Sox making the playoffs and not making it.

Anyway the Yankee fans can have all the fun they want, their team earned it.

Minus blown saves....:sidelol: :sidelol: :sidelol: :sidelol: :sidelol: ....that's his one friggin job!:sidelol:

That's like Chevy Chase from that old SNL skit on the news where he says..."take away all the math". LOL

Great attitude. Because WINNERS GET TO BRAG.........LOSERS GOTTA TAKE IT!

(and no that doesn't mean if/when the yanks lose in the playoffs you can throw it back at us. cause your team didn't do it. Only the fan(s) of the team that knocks us out (if we get knocked out) can dish it out. MAN LAW!)

Well it's the truth. Papelbon had 6 blown saves, Rivera had 3. Other than that Papelbon had a better season than Rivera. So I guess that's 1 prospect that did well this year.

Thanks I know. I've always been here to dish it out and also take it. You can say anything you want about me but I never run and hide. I take it all.

he blew back to back saves to TB and KC in August that all but killed your season.

I'm sorry I can't qualify him as "clutch" or as having a big year. Decent year, but not big. In August against the cupcakes he fell apart. Nuff said.
