Not a shocker but this OL better be ready. Jake coming back from having a gimpy leg all summer, Columbo's notoriety for being a turnstile, Carey being out of shape, Pouncey a wet behind the ears rookie... You gotta think Belichick blitzes from all directions for this game. Will the Phins spread out 5WR? Max protect?

I'd be dumping it off to reggie all night if thats the case. Burn them with a few screens and they will think twice about sending the house.

If we're going with a "Pats" offense, quick strike mentality is key. I'd love a lot of screen passes to Reggie and some slants to Brandon.

I was actually just about to post the same thing, I think bellicheat is gonna overload the right side and blitz the piss out of columbo he gave up the most sacks in the league last year!

Sparano is probably game planning for that. Check-down Chad will be ready. I hope...

So scared!1

Should we:
Misdirection screen to Bush?
Wide Receiver screen to BMarsh?
Fade to Clyde Gates?

Pats don't have an answer for any of those.

I dont think they will. Think they will try to create pressure with their linemen and commit alot of players into coverage. Remember the Pats defense will be using a 4-3 in order to get the best out of their monsters on the D-line.

I would imagine coming from that system early in his career that Daboll understands what the defensive scheme will be and he'll have an answer for it. It is up to our QB and WR's to read the defense and audible to quick slants/screens etc. to make them pay for the gamble of sending the house.
I for one am excited to see what this offensive scheme is capable of and from the preseason sample we saw i think it's going to be pretty damn exciting.
Leeeeeeeets get ready to ruuuumble!!!!!

if they can stop the run on first down and get us in 2nd and 3rd and longs i think you'll see them play a lot of coverage...dropping guys making henne check down and then flowing to the ball in pursuit in numbers

I'm actually looking forward to teams blitzing us this year. Without Henning Chad won't be switching the play to max protect, he's actually going to call a new play to attack what they're doing. He did it against Tampa Bay and I'm anxious to see how well he does in the regular season. Belichick is very good at disguising what he does but I'm not sure how well he can do that in the 4-3 like he did in the 3-4. He might show blitz and bring the OLB and drop the DE into coverage....good luck with that if the DE is going to try and cover Reggie Bush out of the backfield. Bring a safety up to blitz and leave the middle of the field open for Fasano or a quick slant to BMarsh...I'm OK with that too.

It's a whole new world when teams blitz against us and we're not going max protect with one or two receivers running routes.

I don't think that will last long if they do... With this new offense it looks like we are not afraid to throw downs 1 thru 3. IF they do, I think quick screens and slants will remedy that.

I hope. If there's one thing that Henne has had success with it's beating the blitz.

yep you do henne a favor when you give him single coverage looks...and thats why i don't think they'll do it much...sit back and attack anything underneath and wait for henne to lose patience and to try and force some things

If anything I believe we will score more points this year and make things better.

This will be a great game that I see being one of two things.....very close and it goes to whoever has the ball last, or we beat them by 2TD's. I really don't see them blowing us out, we are just far more competitive this year.

They played alot of cover 2 against Henne last year...for the most part he struggles against it.. He has been good against the blitz
