The Pats will blitz the crap out of the Phins on MNF

Keep in mind the Phins were in max protect against heavy blitzes improving Henne's ability to be effective against it. Henne now has to recognize and counter something he wasn't doing with Henning. I doubt if BB loads up and comes with any conistency, instead relying on his front four to get pressure.

I think the Jets will be a true test of how well Henne can handle blitzes in this new offense.

Good post. I agree. Though I do think he'll blitz more than he did in the first game last year. It remains to be seen how much he will blitz, however.

I dont think they'll come out the gate blitzing the house, they'll probably feel out what they can accomplish with a 4 man rush then adjust imo...

they would expose their whole middle of the defense if they went blitz heavy. not sure i'd do that if my safeties were Patrick Chung, Josh Barrett, Sergio Brown and James Ihedigbo.

if they can stop the run on first down and get us in 2nd and 3rd and longs i think you'll see them play a lot of coverage...dropping guys making henne check down and then flowing to the ball in pursuit in numbers

One factor you all miss is that Henne can actually AUDIBLE his pants off at the LOS - PATS never saw this last few years...

all I know is the last time Daboll faced the Pats was last year with Cleveland and he put 34 points on them and had Hillis gain 182 yards rushing, run Bush off tackle all game if he gets 20 carries he will get over 100 yards

Henne has his best best games in the past vs team who play man-man and blitz. I'm all for the Patriots defense trying man-man instead of dropping into zone.
