The Ricky Situation doesn't make any sense

A 4th or 5th rounder huh?? You realize that if we traded RW for a 4th or 5th and he comes back playing like he did before we left, that would be more stupid than the 2nd we gave up for Feeley. He is more of a risk to trade than he is to keep in the team.

The guy took a year off it not like he has been out of the game for 3 or 4 years. Its not like he's 50 pounds over weight. Its a lot more easy to gain weight than it is to lose it. If he comes back he will be a force because if he comes back its because he wants to play the game. Look at what he did when he wasnt even running as hard as he could, behind a below par O-Line!

I just don't believe that him coming back and playing like he did before is likely. And IMO the year off and the weight loss is big. It's not true that it is easier to gain weight than it is to lose for all people.

I'm not sure if he comes back it will be b/c he wants to play the game. It could just be that he wants to avoid paying back all that money. That's the problem, it would be very naive to accept him back without questioning his motivation. If he's not motivated than he is just a distraction.

I understand, you dont like Ricky which is your problem. You can say that the guy that bad quitting the team, you can say that you dont like his personality, his last name, but you cant say that Ricky is not a good football player and all your post in reference of Ricky are lame. The fact that he did not play last year means nothing, but we all know that Ricky never quit in the field, he always play hard and if he decide to come back and Saban really wants him, be prepare to see the beast running wild again!

Oh he didn't? The man admitted to not running as hard...... hence his stats declining. And don't blame it all on the O-line. He's had a bad O-line here since Day 1. I never said Ricky wasn't a good football player. All I've said is he's a waste of time NOW. If he was a young buck who messed up a little bit I'd be more open arms. Physcially the man at one point could play in the league. His head is not meant for it. That is my point. You do not make it in the league strictly based on your physical prowess.

Ok you asked for it. Let's see if you can first address Omah intelligently. Then I may waste some time on your quick to judge labeling arse!

By the way you implied that R Brown is the next comimg of RW talent wise in your earlier post. And you know, I hope he is and more! It seems to be the only opportunistic statement of any your silly lil posts.

Huh? Where did I say Ronnie is the next coming of RW? And I asked for "it"? What is "it"? You can't even formulate your side of the argument, instead hiding behind Omah. Give me a break.

............it was only a matter of time before you resorted to a diss. I will not waste my time getting in a petty pissing match with you. Go pick on another one of your fellow noobs if you want to slander back and forth.

Hey you started it! lazy... and poncho i am not! I assume that you are not women and have taken offense. Ma bad

By the way I will hate you better! If thats how you want it? Im still waiting for a intelligent reply by you from any of the other posters.

.........and Ricky's motivations will always be strictly personal. Ricky is one of those classic cases of the beautiful girlfriend who is a cancer, but you can't get rid of her because you're blinded by her beauty. I empathasize with RW because of Wanny abusing his talents. Yet at the same time, that's what the guy is paid to do..........run the d*mn football. If he was mentally tough enough he would've realized he was our only hope in the first place.......

To think we would insert Ricky in there and suddenly have an 1,800 yard calibur back again would be naive.

Ponch is a nickname.......like "slick" ......"champ".........."bro" .......... d*mn man sounds like you're the one taking the offense like a woman so you fired off kindergarten cutdowns. Brother I could care less what names you call me. I will not waste my time with childish little argument antics. If you're that bored than go find somebody else to lay your "hate you better" trash with.

...........and intelligence? Is "hate you better" a sign of intelligence? :shakeno:

And you deserved the "lazy" comment. You immediately attacked my post without any real comment of your own. That's called lazy my friend.

hes good, but i really think ronnie is better......he wont do much when he comes back.
We all like Ronnie, he was a great College player, but we need to wait and see how he will play at the pro level, personally I think he will do well, how well we dont know yet. I believe discarding Ricky so quickly only because he miss a season is crazy, or maybe we lost our memory.

Who discarded who? Sometimes you make decisions, in some cases brash ones, and you have to live with them. Ricky made that decision on his own.

And I wonder what evidence you have that Ricky has not already begun to get in shape. Hes been in India. If he is coming back...maybe he is working out there. Better than here and every tom dick and harry writing articles about him working out again. Ricky is a deeply spiritual human. It is entirely possible is is also working on strengthining his mind. Possibly you smirk at his spirituality. Because you dont understand him..doesnt mean something is wrong with him. He was being misused. Wanf**k had abused him time and time again by neglecting to focus more on the offense. It was getting to the point of being stupid. 8 man fronts...and a cloud of dust. We all hated seeing that happen. The only thing that matters is if his teammates accept him back. If they do..you can whine all you want....but Ill accept your apology when he runs wild again.

......including the one that he decide to come back. The point that you made in reference that Ricky was in the decline, make no sense, Ricky was 75% of our entire offense, i guess at this point was no brainer for the opposite team to key on him, which left Ricky to deal almost all the time against 8 or 9 man front. Even tho he did manage to put up good number! I'am not mentioning our poor offensive line, cause a good back if is really good can still make play....Ricky did that. Like it or not.

I don't know if this has been considered or not, but what are the cap ramifications if Ricky does come back? Is it year 3 of his old deal? Or since the Phins won a judgement, is an entirely new deal required?

Of course Ricky's motivations will be personal. Any pro football out there is playing for personal reasons. Its called that huge paycheck. Drop their saleries to 60K a year and see how many of them stick around for the physical abuse. Yeah I know .. I love hearing all of these people say they play for the love of the game then all of a sudden want to renegotiate their contract.

Ricky quit because he was embarrassed he got busted for pot and thought that quitting would be easier than dealing with all the publicity of it. It was still public but he didnt have to worry about it in India. Is a serious side effect of his disorder. When he is on meds he is fine, who knows maybe there has to be a stipulation in his contract that he takes his meds before the trainers.

And you to think if he came back he would suck is just as naive.

Funny how in one paragraph you go from questioning what I don't know about Ricky to questioning my spirituality WHICH you know nothing about. Is that supposed to be ironic or something?

Let me ask you this..........do you know what he's doing in India right now? If not, don't even bring it up. It's a hollow point.

Happy waiting for that apology!
