These days the concussion protocol is as serious as a heart-attack. No one blows through this anymore.

Studies have shown that the players coming off of a concussion are at incredible risk for another (and a worse) concussion. In my career, our association saw a death when a young player suffered a concussion in practice (which wasn't taken seriously), and then another one that Friday during a game.

This is serious stuff... and why several ex-NFL players have both committed suicide... and left their brains to science.
