I wasn't Gibson's biggest fan coming in, but last year he proved very reliable at moving the chains, getting proper depth, finding space, and coming down with the ball even in traffic. IMHO, if Gibson continue us to do that and stays healthy he will keep his starting spot.
Remember, we are sort of Green Bay South. They draft a WR every year nd Co tinge to integrate them into the team. They have wonderful depth and everyone knows their responsibility, runs good routes, and concentrates on catching the ball before running. Landry fits this type of player and will settle into our system if he can get open. We are finally developing quality depth.
Last year when we lost underneath targets Keller and Gibson we were lost at sea. We need this depth. Landry will get his share of snaps, and surpass Matthews in the pecking order by years end.
On a related note, Green Bay selected the developmental WR I had hoped we would get, Jeff Janis. He is the opposite of Landry at 6'3 200 lbs and runs a 4.38 forty, 37.5" vertical, but rounds his routes and isn't as quick. Still, he has a lot of good tape and raw talent.
