What kind of dumbass argument is that? Burnett stunk, but Dansby played OK last year. I am not a Dansby fan and I'm honestly glad we let that fat loudmouth go, but the fact is that we replaced those guys by overpaying a couple of guys who are actually worse overall. If you want to run a couple of overpaid loudmouth bums out of town, that's great. But don't tie up a ton of money in a couple of overpaid bums who keep their mouths shut.

Because fans wanted Burnett and Dansby run out of town, it's okay for him to overpay a couple of guys who are terrible? What?

No. The biggest problem was the fact that we can't run the ball or pass protect. Guess who assembled the guys who can't run block or pass protect? You got it.

The problem is the fact that you want to find a scapegoat for what happened. Even in the Baltimore game where we could have tied the game and the FG was blocked that was his fault correct?

But again you missed my point, when we were winning we didn't see the Ireland bashing it only happens when we lose. Which proves that people will try to find a scapegoat for every loss rather than accept the fact that we got whopped pretty good.

What board were you reading where you didn't see Ireland bashing even during the win streak? Because he was certainly being bashed on this board and even after the 3-0 start people (including me) were saying the same things.

We 'need a scapegoat?' This isn't about scapegoating anyone. This is about holding the team's General Manager accountable for his job performance. We got 'whopped pretty good' because we could not run the ball well, could not pass protect, and could not stop the run. Why couldn't we do any of these things? Some of that is on the coaches, but mostly it's because of the lack of talent.

Riddle me this, if you REALLY think that the problems with our OL are due to coaching and not talent, why did the pass protection improve significantly (it's still bad, btw) after we replaced Jon Martin at left tackle? We replaced him with a washed up, bum-kneed Bryant McKinnie, a guy the Ravens couldn't wait to get rid of, a guy who didn't even know the line calls, and he still cut the number of sacks we were taking per game by almost half.

That's insane. That's not coaching. That's talent.

If Philbin has no answers then he needs to go and take Sherman with him.

Ireland should be replaced but Ross seems to have a man-crush on him for some reason.

Wonder what Ross' new advisory committee will 'advise' him? And will he take their advice when offered?

I am thinking that we probably need to clean house but probably won't. The Ireland situation is obvious but I am losing faith in Philbin because the team always looks horrible in big games. If our season is on the line or if it is a nationally televised, prime-time game then we look like crap. You can't win in the post-season if you can't play well in the spotlight.

Yesterday's lose was a total lackof effort on the whole team. But this team has done this time and time again. People are blaming the offense but the defense couldn't stop a bills team from running and moving the ball even tho they were missng their QB and top WR's. The oline couldn't block a high school d-line. Daniel Thomas got ran over by blitzing DB's a few times.....the list goes on and on so part of the blame goes to the coaching staff as this team was not ready to play and part goes to Ireland as he put the team together. I think Ireland and the whole coaching staf needs to go and yes, start again. You keep everyone in place and you'll get the same results. And for those who think you need another 4 years with a new GM/HC.....niners/chiefs

Ozzy rules!!

So why bash him when we are winning? Obviously things were working correct? and AGAIN it proves that people want to just pin everything on him when things go wrong. Even though the team is going to play horribly time to time.

Another thing why do you focus on the horrible like the o-line play and ignore everything else? it looks like alot of those were a good pickusp also the emergence of Gibson,Matthews,Vernon,Clay and Grimes.

All I am saying is people need to stop being so bi-polar about everything that happens and throwing out names to place blame on.

I have been pretty consistent in my Ireland hate no?

We can go toe to toe, and then lose to Buffalo twice and Tampa Bay when they were winless. Don't come to me with that crap. I'd be happier if we lost to Cincy and NE and beat Buffalo twice and beat Tampa. A. Our record would be better. B. You could honestly say they come to play every week. Just that we're still a little ways away.

And I can accept this. But, folks need to realize when we can go toe to toe with some of the better teams in the AFC. IMO, thats proof that we have at least a decent amount of talent on the roster.Further, for all the Ireland bashing. Please name all the teams in the NFL that I'm assuming you and others hold as being better equipped than the Dolphins. What's the record? What's their personnel now lets compare them to us.

Finally, when we get blown out like we did yesterday. Sometime you just gotta sit back and say, "I may not be an Ireland fan, But this lost has a lot more to do with Coaching than the moves the GM has or has not made.

If Ireland goes, so should Joe Philbin.
We were awful yesterday but I expect both will be back next season. Don't underestimate the difficulty of playing in Buffalo in cold, wet and windy conditions. Hopefully the players learn from the experience and come out determined to win against the Jets.

Even when we are winning, I will be critical of deficiencies he is responsible for. Overcoming a deficiency and winning in spite of it, especially in a league of parity, is not a reason to simply overlook those deficiencies.

Let's see, here are the players at non-OL positions that Jeff Ireland asked this coaching staff to work with, you tell me which one of these players you think was a great addition to this football team:

RB: Lamar Miller, Daniel Thomas
LB: Koa Misi, Dannell Ellerbe, Phil Wheeler
Safety: Chris Clemons, Reshad Jones

Both of those RBs, he traded up to get. They both stink.

All three of those LBs, he gave big money contracts to. They all stink.

One of those safeties is a marginal player who is an impending free agent. The other one is a marginal player we just handed top 3 money out to.

How can you defend this crap? Seriously. Because the team has won 8 games and had a nice win against the Patriots last week you're just going to overlook this and/or pretend that because it's 'working' to the tune of an 8-7 record that these moves aren't bad?

I sincerely hope you aren't in a management or analysis position at your place of employment.

IMHO, what it comes down to is this.....we need a better GM that can bring in impact players that make big plays at big times consistently and can put players under the coach that can do what the coaches want them to do. If, in order to do this, we have to toss the baby out too, I'm okay with that after yesterday. I like Joe Philbin, but we need to get a GM with every ounce, Ireland should be a head scout, nothing more. If we get a legit high end GM, and he wants to work with Philbin....great. But after this past weekend, I'm not so in love with Philbin that I'll cry if he's gone with Ireland.

I think there are some hard decisions to make regarding the coaching staff/front office and even the roster. I love me some Cam Wake, but he's on the downslide people, he's on the wrong side of 30, he'll be 33 next year. When's the last time we saw an over 30 pass rusher dominate? Jason Taylor for one year? And he was consistently put in the right spot that year by Saban. Wake is just being asked to dominate physically, and he's fading. Paul Soliai? How much for a run stuffer that doesn't completely own the middle every week? for the record, I'm in favor of keeping Wake due to the cap hit in moving on this year....but Soliai? Steal Wilfork off the Pats for 3 mil for 2 years. Phillip Wheeler sucks, I agree, but with a 4 mil cap hit, he's here for at least one more year. Let Jenkins compete next year for that spot.

Good God, we need a GM that can fix our Oline, and a QB coach that can work on Tanny's deep ball.

This team is not very good. But the whole NFL is down from what it used to be. The Dolphins can probably beat any team on any given Sunday. They also can lose to any team(or be dominated) just like they did Sunday. The NFL has been watered down so much there are no great teams any more. It is a game of parity and mediocrity.
