If Sherman is back next year, we are going to be worse than we are this year. I think Sherman sits in the booth and thinks, "it worked in practice why isn't it working now. I just have to stay with the same offense plays that are not working and they are going to work because I can not have come up with a gameplan that is ineffective. What else would I do, I can not be wrong."
What an idiot!
The Dolphins also ran out of the shotgun for all but seven snaps in Sunday's loss. Sherman felt this gave quarterback Ryan Tannehill a better opportunity to check different passes, see the field better and open up opportunities with the read-option. Sherman said running out of the shotgun that much also gave the opposing defense an extra player to account for, but admitted the lack of variety was an issue.

"We should mix it up and be able to do both," Sherman said. "I think we have the ability to. We didn't do as much of it yesterday as we have in the past probably."

Oh yeah, I forgot. Sherman must think that the only run play that is effective is an off tackle dive.

This guy is abysmal. The defense, while not great, has been serviceable enough this year to get Miami to 10 wins. We're 8th in points against. Every other team in the top 9 has AT LEAST 10 wins. Our offense lives in the bottom quarter of the league and, at this point, is only averaging about 1.5 points more than last year.

was Sherman great a week ago? It comes down to the players making plays, your players made plays against NE but did not against Buffalo. EVERY fanbase blames the OC when things don't go well, it's the job of the players to go out and execute and they failed last Sunday.

I've seen no one think Sherman was great a week ago.Junc why do you use one or two fringe posters = 1000 active users ?

Yeah, when it is working. But when you have an offense that is running long developing routes and your offensive line is not able to sustain their blocks, you have to shorten the WRs routes and let the QB get the ball out quicker. First it will not get your QB killed and it might loosen up the D so you can throw those deeper patterns. When you do not do that and stay with the same thing all game, that is the definition of stupidity!

Exactly. We are the only team with a top defense who cant consistently win games vs. bad teams. Its because our offense is so bad. The question is why is our offense so bad. You guys seem to think its Sherman. I think its the personnel on offense.

All of the other teams who hold their opponents down to the amount of points we do, win double digit games. And those defenses have the advantage of an offense who keeps the ball a bit longer, dosent turn it over as much, and scores some points to give them leads that allow them to place the opposition in obvious passing situations more.

I imagine if our offense were better, our defense would be even better as well. This team could be a legit SB contender with a bunch of wins with just a bit better and more consistent offense.

We haven't seen one game this year nor really last season where Sherman stood out. Most fans on the wins are relieved we looked decent not great.Sure some of it is the team/players but he is too bland.

I am worried about putting another OC on Tannehill in the midst of his growth. That being said, he may end up on IR (and probably should have already) if something doesn't change. I think everyone's staying but if Sherm goes I hope it's a QB guro who can jump in on Tannehills development.

Or maybe it's both. Personally, I think Sherman stinks, however I also think The o line is the leagues worst, our running backs are below average, our wide receivers are okay and our qb is a 2nd year player who's still developing. All a recipe for a bad offense.

Agree that it's a combination of things starting with a horrible Oline. There have been several big plays that we're missed because of poor throws. Drops, pressure on QB, but by design the big play was there. It's also hard to get cute without talent and I'm referring to the Oline.
Our receivers are above average IMO but one glaring problem I see is improper utilization of personnel on the offensive side of the ball. Poor screens, slants, and not getting playmakers involved as part of a gameplan is a huge problem that rests with Sherman. I wouldnt be sad to see him pack his bags although I think he stays.

Two of our wide receivers are above average but we still don't have a true number one.

Get Kubiak in as the new OC. At least he'll call some boot legs and get Tannehill moving on the throws.
